Hmmm in talking to [livejournal.com profile] mjules  lately  I realize how much I miss English classes and discussing literature and poetry. It was fun talking with [livejournal.com profile] mjules about Poe and Sandburg and the bawdy fun of Donne. I do miss talking about these things on a regular basis. Maybe I should revisit my idea to do that book group thing online with genre books.

my computer has a new motto. It's if you first don't succeed, install install again. On the third try the stupid scanner installed....but it will only save as HTML...wth? Sigh.

And you know things aren't going well when you're looking for your other doctor's phone number and realize you were scheduled for a mammogram and no one told you the date...which was today and you have 15 minutes to get there (nothing like clipping up the road at a mile and minute) and then have an allergic reaction to the soap they used in washing the gown so not only do the D cups get mashed they break out in hives from the damn soap. ARGH

You'd think a doctor's office would use non-scented detergent! I'm sorry you had a bad day

it was but hospitals often use very harsh chemicals just due to all the contimination they see. You'd think they'd have PAPER gowns

Well, on the bright side, at least you made it to your appointment! On the dim side, sucks about the soap. :-(

Seems like doctors of all people would be conscientious of allergies and take care to do their laundry in the clear-and-free kind of detergent...

And I'm glad the poetry thing got you started on something! Yay! Books! You should do it. I'll join the club. :-D I'll be a slack ass member and you will all sigh and wonder why you allowed me to join in the first place, but then I'll be back in the swing of things as enthusiastic as ever and you'll suddenly remember. Right - because she wouldn't shut up until we let her in.

;-)

well like I said before, it's not the clear and free possible setting. You need to kill NASTY stuff in hospitals that means harsh detergents, no getting around it.

I'm thinking on it. We have the community already which we used to recc books before mo ving it to an archive and then we tried and it didn't quite work.

True dat. I guess like you said, the paper gowns would be a smarter idea.

I look forward to seeing what happens with the book thing. :-)

The book thing sounds like a cool idea. English courses I took in college were my favorites of all my basic classes i had to take.

Stupid soap!

I started it once. There seems to be interest. I might try again now that it's winter

Oh my. [snicker] Never had a mammogram... not looking forward to them - i'd probably have broken out in hives, too.

Figure I've got a couple of years of freedom...

Fibrocystic? ... I have fibrocystic breast tissue, but not the condition that carries all the pain and whatnot. I have been told to be vigilant once I hit 30, though.

Dude, I've decided we came out of the same factory, though. Maybe they all just go together - the pcos, fibrocystic breast tissue, tilted uterus...

I still say it doesn't rule out breeding. It just makes for odd mood swings of when your body decides to be cooperative.

Well you are certainly proof positive it doesn't entirely rule it out. My mother will be so happy

You might not want to tell her. She'd probably start mailing "eligible men" to your house.
