Let's start with the fic rec. Go read what
lillianmorgan wrote for me for the cya ficathon. It's Angelus/Darla set soon after Angelus was made. It's a nice look at their power dynamics

It's been a very productive day for me. I got half my Buffy Love story typed. I got the roughs of all three Under 400 Words Drabblethon done. I finished polishing birthday fic and started work on something new. I got two lectures prepped and let me say I'm very disappointed (to the point of writing the publisher) in my class cd's for Anatomy. Their lecture series that comes with it has been very good. the reproductive one is poor, mostly pictures. I could handle that but tell me why they included lecture material ONLY on the male reproductive system. The female system was just pictures, no words at all. WTF? I also looked at the test statistics for both anatomy classes on the last test (they bombed. I made it easier and they did piss poor) to see if I can find problem questions.
I also weeded the garden and prepped the earth for planting. It was weird. It was covered wiht decorative wood chips (now piled in a corner for reuse) and had a protective anti-weed mat. The enormous amount of weeds in the garden were 98% on the mat ONLY (except for dandelions and ramps) I just peeled it back, no digging necessary. The plants aren't in the clay yet. I need to bake the potting soil I'll be using and I'm still leary of a freeze.
And the birthday meme everyone's doing. It was hard to pick. Lots of cool people have my birthday.
Go to Wikipedia. In the Search box, type your birth month and day (but not year). List three events that happened on your birthday. List two important birthdays, two interesting deaths, and one interesting holida/observance. Post this in your journal
Three Events
1631 - Mumtaz Mahal died during childbirth. Her husband, Mughal emperor Shah Jahan I, then spent more than 20 years to build her tomb, the Taj Mahal.
1876 - Indian Wars: Battle of the Rosebud - 1,500 Sioux and Cheyenne led by Crazy Horse beat back General George Crook forces at Rosebud Creek in Montana Territory.
1972 - Watergate scandal: Five White House operatives are arrested for burglarizing the offices of the Democratic National Committee, in an attempt by some members of the Republican party to illegally wiretap the opposition.
Two Births
1898 - Edward Burne-Jones, English artist (b. 1833)
1943 - Barry Manilow, American musician
Two Deaths
1239 - King Edward I of England (d. 1307)
2005 - Karl Mueller, American bassist (Soul Asylum) (b. 1962)
One Holiday/Observance
1944 - Icelandic Independence Day, from Denmark (and that's pretty much it)
