Wow, that was a unique smell

Today was the last lab for my zoology students. We dissected squid, starfish, frogs and rats....only my students were fussing at me about the rat. They don't like rats. Well, it's dead so get over it. It's not going to hurt you. (i.e. dissect or fail) However, the rats in the bucket are old and it must not have sealed so not only do you have the scent of formalin you have rotted rat. Oh joy. Nothing like the scent of decomposing rodents at lunch time.
They whine some more. You're wearing gloves, dissect it. After a few minutes of pathetic attempts to skin it, i do it for them (well who wants to smell that) and basically give up and try washing the thing. Yeah that worked. I ended up doing the dissection just to speed things along.
Other than that, not much going on other than the garden. Please help. I have like 8 dozen tomatoes, at least 6 eggplants already, the peppers are less prolific. the zucchini is blooming nad I have beans and hycanith beans everywhere. Salad at my place in a few months
One of my favorite pieces of music is on. I just think its hauntingly beautiful
ETA - I hate when I overeat (and very rarely do) but i made a recipe from Everyday Italian that was killer. I had to have that second helping. Carbonara sauce made with bacon and pancetta not to mention cream, 6 egg yolks and a cup and a half of parmesan cheese. RICH
