story bits and reccs
Aug. 9th, 2006 10:31 amWell i should be doing the final clean up of the house before the parents arrive tonight. Or going to town to get food to feed said parental units. Instead I'm mucking about here. Luckily I went to the office yesterday because it's all done up fresh and new for me...and the internet stopped working (got it fixed) Put some of my books out on the shelves, makes me look all official and professor like. The secretary was laughing at me because I'm putting them in alphabetical order. I can't help it. Books belong in alphabetical order (by title in case anyone's wondering)
tinpanalley is feeling icky today and challenged us to write a hangover drabble for our favorite character. Here's mine. Okay it's like two and a half drabbles (leave me alone)
“God, I think I’m dying,” Connor groaned, sitting up. He saw stars as he whacked his head on something and belatedly realized that he was under his bed. He crawled out from under it and over another body. His dorm room looked like Jonestown the day after. There was an unconscious girl in his bed. Demon? Spell? Oh, right, dorm kegger.
Light suddenly stabbed his eyes as the curtains opened with a thunderous hiss. Jared eyed him primly. Why did he have to get stuck with the a roommate who wanted to go into the ministry? “You can get your drunken friends out of here at any time.”
“When I come back to life,” Connor groaned.
“I had to sleep in the lounge.” Jared sniffed. “I want them out now.”
“Don’t make me puke on you, Jared.” Connor held his roiling belly. “I’m pretty sure I could do it on command.”
Jared’s eyes widened and he fussed his way out of the room, tripping over one of the beefy ball players.
Connor checked on the girl in his bed. Satisfied she was just sleep, he nudged her over and laid his aching head on the shared pillow.
“You know,” the freshly awaken side of beef rumbled. “For a skinny guy, you can drink.”
“Credit to my Irish name, that’s me,” Connor replied, grinning through the pain. Yes, this is what he came to college for.
And
druinsanity was doing up some drabbles/ficlets for us and did a fine one for me. Spike/Dru to the prompt of 'me and the moon.' You can find it here. Check it out. I love it. Moondance
