Unlike most of my flist, I think the pirate talk is kinda cute. My students were amused with talking like a pirate. Well, I said I would but then said...no you'll probably think I'm more insane than usual and round me up and keelhaul me.

In other news, the apple festival started today and all around the campus are bales of hay...I kid you not...and yes this is a slow news day. Hmmm, one student gave me homegrown pickled veggies and a thank you for teaching him last year and one freshman is so excited about my non-major class she wants to become a microbiologist and wants my help. Ah...this almost offsets nursing students who miss 10 out 13 matching on a chemistry review quiz.

Why am I the only one on planet Earth..er..LJ that has no idea what's up with this whole pirate thing?

Wow you STILL get prezzies from your students as a university professor? Haha. That's pretty awesome. Did you give him a good grade? Or is he bribing you?

In other news. Why are your students always so...forgive me for saying this..idiots? No really. Matching?

I think it's cute, too. Especially if someone is rather good at it. It's easy enough to suck at.

No one at work talked to me yesterday, so... I tried to do it with my daughter. She told me no. I attempted the, "Are ya sure, matey?" But... she walked away. [laugh]

I miss the eye-patches on the lj user icon today. [sniffle]

But yay for good students! Personally, I know I'd love having you as a teacher. So many teachers have no personality, and the ones that do rock. :)

Every year at work, we play around with the idea of dressing like pirates for Halloween. Never happens. There are a few customers I would definitely love to keel-haul. I usually just tie the black cat ears over the black baseball cap. Draw whiskers, done. We're kind of limited in what we can do because of Board of Health regulations. Maybe we'll go for it this year. Pirate Bakery. "Pirates of the Tirimisu". Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of vanilla. Good Ship Lollipop. Anyway, pirate speak always be a good time.
