Lean on Me drabbles

“Lean on me, Steven,” Holtz slipped an arm around Steven’s waist.
The ten year old’s eyes screwed up tight as he limped on his bloody ankle. “It hurts, Father.”
“I know, son.” Holtz half carried Steven to their den and set him on his bed. He eased Steven’s boot off. The demon bite was bloody but no deep. He took Steven’s hand, trying to calm the boy. “You can’t be careless. You’re not invincible son,” he scolded, feeling the boy’s pulse. It thundered like his own. This had been too close.
Steven just shook as Holtz tended to the wound.
Spike/Dawn S5 - Why Me?
Why did she always come to him with her traumas? Did he look like a girlfriend? Was he daddy? No way in hell, so why was his crypt where she chose to spend her free time? It slowly seeped into his thick skull that Dawn honestly liked him. She leaned on him when she was spoiled for choice when it came to far better candidates for confidants.
Spike was torn between being ticked that his terrifying reputation didn’t faze Dawn and touched that someone actually truly cared for him. It was a new feeling, raw and powerful. It felt good.
