THIS is why i can't ever keep my finances straight. Now I've been paying my credit card with Providian for years. They were bought out by Washinton Mutual (Yeah those annoying Wamu commericals) I paid them online too. This month I've been trying to pay them but it keeps saying my password is invalid. Now this is a user name (which is spelled wrong thank you providian who set it up and told me they COULDNT change it) and password combo i know well since i've been using it for several years. I can't do it at work, can't do it at home and of course since i waited until forever, it ended up going one day late until i called them today.

The first person told me she can't help me. Just go reset my password. I go and this time it DOESN'T block my password. It says my account can't be accessed online. Screaming I call WaMu back up and tell them this. They tell me when i relate the user name password combo that it's right so it must be my server. I ask how this could be in two computer two different servers in two different cities. She can't answer but offers to let me pay over the phone (but i have to call in in two days to get the late fee waived) without charging me for it since the website won't let me in.

She asks the bank name. I tell her and she tells me this is wrong. I tell her I know my own bank and that it IS the one on record since WaMu took over after I moved to OH and it's the only one i have here. She tells me it's not. I tell her it's the bank i'm using so get over it. She takes the name and routing numbers and all that. She relates them back to me and I say yeah right.

She asks what I want to pay and I ask how much I owe on the account. She tells me 15$ I said no I asked you what I owe on the account NOT the min. payment. She asks why. So I can pay you off and cancel the card. She hesitates then tells me. I actually don't want to pay that much at holiday time so I set her mind at ease and pay half.

She asks for the bank info again and I tell her and she tells me it's WRONG. WTF lady? She tells me I told her this number that's not even close. I said ma'am I told you this...you read it back to me right, what is your problem? Finally she has the right numbers and is getting snotty with me.

So I figured I'd share this with the caveat of avoid Washington Mutual. (however I did just get a card from them and Sears which I activated both. WaMu wanted the last 4 of the card and of my SS#. Sears didn't ask for any identifying information and tried to sell me stuff. Avoid them too.
