Angel - Set during Not Fade Away

Angel always thought he had all the time in the world, a benefit of his nocturnal existence. He had lived for several lifetimes, seen the world change in ways he couldn’t have imagined. How had so much time slipped away? He thought he would have time to still make things right with a certain Slayer. He was on the cusp of something with his son. But in those microsecond between the wood of finding his heart and going to dust, Angel knew there was never enough time. Connor and Buffy’s names lasted longer on the wind than his dust did.
