what a day

first off I had students for advising. LOTS of students. They wouldn't stop coming actually. But I will give them credit and the young ones on my list should take note of this, they took their futures into THEIR own hands. I had three freshmen who were advised by their coach last time and who fought with them to NOT change advisors because let's face it, the coach has a vested interest in keeping them in their sport.

The girls, showing good foresight for 18 year olds, realized that the coach wasn't letting them take ANY hard subjects nor anything in their major which is death if you're in science. Scholarship aside they're not here to do sports, they all have their eye on the big prize, grad. school so they ditched the coach and sought of me. And were slightly terrified to see if they hadn't they would NOT have been able to take any sophomore level bio/chem classes because they wouldn't have had the prereqs so go them.

Then I went to vote....and I BROKE the ballot machine. I don't know what happened to it. I touched the screen. It whined and died and ate my electronic voter card. They couldn't fix it and had to give me another one (to the delight of the line that built up behind me) and for what? There was like nothing on the ballot. I was expecting something more (but i did get to vote against the lawyer whose office was repeatedly rude to me in my search for representation. See if I vote you in as judge. ha.

Then I went to the ultimate evil (i.e. Wal-Mart) to shop but since I hadn't expected some of the students I hadn't had lunch and by now I'm doing my Goku impression pushing my buggy thru the store going 'i'm so hungry' while my stomach is growling. This explains all the odd food buys including chocolate covered pomegranates....I drove home surrounded by open food containers (completing the Goku impression)

oh and the characters have found a song they all like, Finger Eleven's Paralyzer Kinda wish I had a download of that. However, i've learned that outside of Ben adn Killian none of the men can dance. In fact, Yukio, Jonrynn and Makai should never ever attempt it ever again. My brain ran and hid

and then i made a T-bone for dinner and was going to put a balsemic reduction and goat cheese on it only to take out the goat cheese (taht I bought a week or so ago and still had two weeks left on the 'best by' date) and see the packaging was like a balloon. Can anyone say botulism? I thought so. Well the fancy finish would have been a waste. There was so much connective tissue in that steak...let's just say the cat will eat well. (and speaking of you Roy WHY is one of your white whispers on my dashboard?)

Because Roy climbed into Yukio when I came to visit and left a calling card.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You broke the ballot machine?! *snort* Oh, wooooowww... that's...TOTALLY AWESOME! XD I applaud you! I probably woulda broken it, too, but since I'm not eighteen, I can't test out my bad luck yet... *curses for the fact of being an adolescent* Hee, but it sounds like you had FUN!

XDDD

Oh, and this is late, but Happy Guy Fawkes Day! ("Remember, remember, the fifth of November...")

Don't you always have bad luck with electronics? Now it's transferred over to *ahem* elect-tronics. Yes, you may smack me.

Running on 3 hours of sleep. Becoming delirious.

I'm glad those girls took matters into their own hands. That coach sounds like a boob.

Proof that some kids are deciding their own future gives me hope for the world. I recently saw a report on the news were parents were even going to the job interviews with their children...who had graduated college! *head/desk*

yeah that was just blatant. as is, they're going to be running to catch their tails because they have no science or math courses which means summer school to get on schedule

I hated the coaches at my old high school so I never did go into sports. They threw a fit when the money donated to the school went to the library for new computers and books instead of giving it to them for new uniforms despite the fact that they got new uniforms for the cheerleaders, football, softball and basketball uniforms the year before. IMO, sports never really lead to a happy life.

Very smart of those girls (they picked a damn good adviser!) - and, gah, I hate grocery shopping when I'm hungry. I end up with a cart of nothing but crappy carbs :/
