Mom came through surgery but part of my childhood died

Mom made it through surgery and I'm not sure WHY she thought pain pills would kill all her pain but apparently she did. Now she wishes she hadn't done this. Too late Mom. The bullet has left the gun. As my brother said, 'Mom's not like you Dana. I used to bend your joints all the way in the opposite direction and you'd never give up fighting.' Well she'll have to get through this somehow, even with her total lack of pain tolerance. At least John's a physical terrorist...i mean therapist.

Speaking of which my brother got a new and better PT job.

And cross your fingers for ME! I haven't heard back from Marietta yet but West Liberty State College has a tenure track anatomy position I just applied for. That's like 30 miles from my home town (only on the West Virigina side of the border) and it's 12 miles from my casino...


As for the piece of my childhood that died Gary GyGax Died. I can't even begin to tell you how much Dungeons and Dragons I've played in my life. I love it so. I cried a little. I'll wear my ten sided die ear cuff in memorial.

Hearing the Great God E.G.G. passed away was quite a shock. How many of us remember those long nights in college, rolling dice until the sunrise?

And frankly, if it hadn't been for D&D, people wouldn't be playing Halo today.

Glad your mom's surgery went well. Tell her "no pain no gain", and that the pain of her surgery will soon be less than the pain her knee was giving her because it needed a new one.
