Midnight shock

I was at the computer and the parents computer is next to the sliding glass doors to the patio. I saw a shadow and figured it was Rogue wanting in. I turn to let him in and it was a baby Opposum staring in at me. It rooted through everything on the stoop and didn't mind me at all yelling at him. Where the heck was the cat?

In the morning the parents reminded me that when Rogue was a stray living outside my brother's place, he used to share his bowl with a possum. ...


Supposedly off to the lake today but it's storming so maybe not

See....Gerry & I used to live on a farm, and was actually raised on one til I turned 12....the outside cats were always bringing home all sorts of unique friends.

Rabbits, squirrels, a mole once....baby chickens to put in with ours (boy were the neighbors mad!),quail....

Oh man, that sounds like a fun night. We have a skunk around here that shows up at night and makes that meowing sound under my window. A part of me has been tempted to let the damn thing in. o.0

Ha. Guess what my mother found limping through the yard this morning. Yep, a baby possum. Of course, she brought the stinky, flea-ridden thing into the laundry room and bedded it down in a laundry basket, with some water and cat food. The possum was skinned up along the back of its head and neck, but not so injured that it didn't gobble up the cat food, overturn the water dish, and run under the water heater, where I had to prod it out with a broom handle so I could take it outside. It's under the deck of one of the outbuildings now, which is where it was headed anyway before Mom decided to "rescue" it.
