Oh someone is MAD at me.
Jul. 12th, 2008 12:30 pmHe'd get Armstrong after me if he could. Roy had to go to the vet. Naturally they make my appointment at 9 am on a saturday. I wake up, go look for him. He's gone. I wait around. Still doesn't come back. Fall asleep sitting up.
Finally around 11:00 am I hear the neighbor boy, E, outside. I go to look for Roy. E adores Roy but E is 3. Roy is not up to withstanding a three year old's love and usually comes and hides. Sure enough there he is. Well the vet did say if he shows up before noon...
Roy usually rides in his box well but since he's been to the vet at least once a month since Feb I think he's had enough of the box. He yowled all the way there. To make matters worse, the tallest, broadest Golden Retriever saw me, came over, licked the box, drooled on Roy then sat on me. By the time we popped Roy on the table he was sweating out his pads.
As I figured he had a very severe ear mite infection which is super itchy so Roy had shredded that ear. She put in medicine. She clipped his nails. I notice she has young girls helping and tell her about the pre-vet program at my college. I now have a vet who'll take my students AND come speak at the school (which is like 5 minutes away for her). So I'm happy.
Roy is beyond pissed. It takes us both to shove him back in the box. By the time we get in the car, it's hotter than the face of the sun outside. Roy makes me feel bad by lying on his side and panting. I can't go any faster because i'm behind farm equipment and I can't pass because there's a parade of cars following a horse and buggy on the other side of the road.
He's now in the other room, not speaking to me.
