Because they couldn't schedule the Diwali ceremonies into the theatre, we had the celebration today, a month late. I assumed that meant it would be in the theatre but um...no. As a result, the cultural aspect of the celebration wasn't as good. Last year it was a professional production (using the same dance school as this time) This year it was more like being invited to your friend's kid's dance recital. Kinda cute and sweet, kinda painful to watch. Typical of recitals there were the grade schoolers, middle schoolers and high schoolers (who could actually dance). Sadly it was in a conference room which meant yuo could see jack shit.

On the other hand, they let US dance at the end while we were waiting on the food. At least this time we rented out the cafeteria and held it there instead of the Business hall. The food was homemade and very very good. they let us take some home and there was more dancing. Now is afraid the dancing will pop up on youtube...

The interesting thing is the meaning of Diwali changes depending on which area of India you're in, really changes in the god/goddess/hero being honored. That was odd to me.

In spite of this four hour break from the computer I really did well today, got nearly 4000 words (probably would have doubled it if not for the festival). I got to the first kiss finally. Go figure, dangle sex in front of them and they sprint.
