Thank you ice storm. Everyone hope tomorrow is warm enough the rain is just rain so i can get out of here. The storm seems to be moving northeast so good.

Speaking of stuck, I've been reading If the Buddha Got Stuck . I'm finding it helpful without being fluffy or dumb or patronizing. We all get stuck from time to time. I'm stuck in preparing my manuscripts for publication and in looking for a new job and doing everything I need to for my health.

I have excuses. Humans are great when it comes to manufacturing those. We dwell on the past then we make excuses. Why am I dropping out of organizations I enjoy with a list of rationalizations? Why am I allowing a job make me sick instead of looking for a new one? Am I lashing out at people who disagree with me? etc etc. We all do this time to time. Sometimes there are very valid reasons to be a little stuck. Other times some of us live our lives in these ruts. I got a little unstuck last year. I decluttered my life a bit. Baby steps I guess. I need to get some realistic goals. It's one of those books I'd send the flist if I had lots of free cash and thought it would be used (as with life in general some yes, some no I suspect)

Funny, that reminds me of a NYT article I read today about how people self-sabotage themselves. It was talking about how they did it in order to save face when they failed at things they wanted to do; basically manufacturing excuses for themselves.

I don't know if this helps you any there, but this morning there was ice, but the roads were not bad. I had to peel it off my windows. But about 11 it was raining instead of sleeting though, and rained all day... it's only JUST now dropped to 32°. Predicted to be 37 tomorrow with rain and snow possible. Obviously that's in the Dayton area... but our weather moves your way... I'm not sure how much farther north you are up there in PA. So that could make a fiddrence.

Sounds like an interesting book you're reading there. Even your brief description makes it sound worth reading. I get into some of those same things. I have made a little progress. I did clear out my guest room. Unfortunately in the process I cluttered my room back up some, but that's more temporary. I moved 4 big boxes of stuff into storage. (this is stuff that would normally NOT be packed up, such as my alter and a lto of candles and most of my dragons and things like that that I was told to pack up and put away when I listed the house on the market. Apparently, people don't want to see YOUR stuff even if you LIVE in yoru house. they want it plain so they can imagine their stuff in it. *rolls eyes* But they do NOT want it empty. Go figure. Apparently it's harder to sell an empty house. What they want is a model home.

Thanks. that's what it says for Athens too. It's POURING now. I don't care if it does that. the ice obviously is a different story.

yeah a model home is right. Good luck with that. I didn't get to finish the book (i.e. i was reading a gift book) so I'll have to get my self a copy. I was finding it helpful since I was seeing things I do in it. Things my friends do.

Oh I definitely know what it's like to be stuck...

But if I were stuck some where else, some place prettier... Would I still be stuck? Like, whose gonna say their 'stuck' in Colorado Springs, CO or Portland, OR? Can a person be 'stuck' in paradise?

Wanna know what's scary? I can't tell if I'm stuck or not. Maybe it's spotty stuckness.

Sounds like a good book; I'll have to pick it up.

i think for the majority of us 'spotty' would be how we're stuck.

*sigh* That's depressing... But I guess a person can be stuck anywhere they don't want to be (even if it's a marvelous place they've always wanted to be). We're a weird species...

yep. That's another thing the book was talking about. Some people rarely get stuck and others get stucka lot. I think I'm the latter so I'm working on it
