Kyo is home

and a pathetic sight to see. Frankly I'm not a fan of this sending them home a few hours after surgery. He can barely walk yet he doesn't want to lie down (He's literally asleep on his face right now because he wanted to walk and fell asleep mid-stride). He's confused because I'm running around putting a coaster (okay old drop cloth) under his bloody backside just in case there's leakage around that poor swollen scrotum and he doesn't understand why there is NO food where food should be.

I'd rather they had just kept him until he could eat again and let him sleep it off in a cage without the distractions. At Roy is cheating on me again with the neighbor. He's over there and out of everyone's hair. Well, at least he seems to be doing okay.


ETA - poor Kyo. First he fell into the pile of recycleable plastic bags and tried to sleep there. I rescued him before he suffocated. Then he refused to sleep in the cat bet and while I was cutting up the tofu for tonight tried to get into the lightweight padded rocker but couldn't. Unfortunately for him when he started to slid he grabbed onto the chair...it tipped over on him. Rescued him from that. He's under the futon hiding from life right now

Oh, that doesn't sound good at all. When I brought Nikki home from my vet, he was awake and there wasn't a bloody backside at. all. Poor Kyo.

Reminds me of my kitties after they got spayed. Dumbsh@@s just can't lie still and heal, they want to move around and jump on things, but they don't have their wits, strength, and dexterity back yet and fall off. It's a little scary, because you wonder if the *will* get better and feel guilty for taking them in for the surgery, but it's always OK after a few days.

yeah i hear you. it was the same way with my others. Heck Iktomi fell down a slight of stairs. I hadn't realized he was trying to climb up them

Poor little guy! I don't remember Dickens as being nearly so bad off. I think he must have spent more time at the vet. He was stepping pretty high and he kept his tail straight up, but otherwise he was okay.

Poor kitty! I think they keep the girls longer than the boys, on the theory that neutering is less major than spaying. Most of our boys came home right away, although we lucked into most of them coming to us that way already...
