Angel watched his son from a distance. Deep down he knew he was doing the wrong thing, acting on his feelings of hurt and betrayal. He should be a better man that that but no one had ever accused him of being a good man. Still, what Connor had done to him was unconscionable.
The boy’s blue eyes broadcasted his emotions, his fear, hatred and uncertainty. Why had Angel ever believed he could wipe out Holtz’s influence so quickly? He had made so many mistakes with his son and if he was making another now, who would he be hurting worse?
Giles pre-series
Swirls of brilliant blue splashed the ceiling while fat purple balls darted back and forth like crazed foxfires. Rupert wanted to catch one but his arms had melted into Ethan on one side and some girl whose name he couldn’t remember. This was her first time to their magic circle.
Distantly, he was aware they were all still naked, sweaty, sticky and given a little rest, he’d be ready again, for the sex, not the magic. As the purple balls started dancing to Cream, Rupert laughed, wondering if he was here more for the sex and drugs than the magic.
