It's just too darn early for me to be doing holiday exchanges (doesn't mean I won't sign up for them). I WILL do the card thing again like always but just give me another week or two to accept that this year has passed.

Speaking of holiday exchanges have a look a the brand new fmagiftexchange and the fireandice2009 challenge I've done the latter before and it's a fun challenge, though it is Ed/Winry only. The former is brand new and open to all pairings and it's patterned after a Buffyverse challenge created by leni_ba and I've done the Buffyverse one often as wll. I think my FMA fan friends would love it. Check it out.

Now for the leave me a prompt and I'll write you a holiday drabble...sorry guys but I'm not doing it this year. I'm burnt out. I've done it for many years but this year I'm just not up to it especially since I want to work on those wonderfully rejected original stories to get them up to snuff.

So while i've seen the 'write me a story' memes going around I won't be posting it. Not that you couldn't write me one if you want. In all those years I've almost never had a story written for me (barring a few exceptions, you know who you are). I will try to finish the two outstanding stories from LAST Christmas. How embarrassing is that?

Okay back to nanoing my little brains out.

Totally off topic comment... is Fruit Baskets any good? (I saw the banners on your profile page). I keep seeing it at Best Buy and waffle on whether to try it out.

Fruits Basket is very sweet and has some cute guys. Sadly, our main heroine is so saccharine, I slip into a diabetic coma reading her (That said, her two best friends, the creepy goth girl and the 'yankee' girl, are hysterical).

There are some heartwrenching themes in the manga that I wish could've been realized more but....

It's a fun read.

hmmm i bought the anime for cheap on Ebay and really the english voice actors are downright awful.

As for the manga, points to whatevil_little_dog said. Tohru Honda is a Mary Sue and I honestly disliked her through all 23 volumes. The story around her had many interesting moments and then it had enough dreck to make me weep. I never bought the manga. I only read it from the library and don't regret that
