you know the one i mean where you MUST scratch at the wound because it's itching you senseless. But it hurts to touch my knee still. Boo.

Had a half bottle of wine, garlic-goat cheese, crackers and artichoke bruschetta for dinner. I still say that's a balanced meal.

Points to icon...i can't talk about it openly but yeah, there's some ugly stuff at work with a handful of students.

good things about fandom - i was recently told someone stayed up half the night to read a story of mine and today someone must have found every Connor thing I've ever written. Hasn't commented to me b ut has favorited them all on FFN

bad things about fandom - Why DO people who like a story enough to favorite it not comment? Just curious. Also why are some so petty that they'll even criticize your presentation when they can't find anything technically wrong (I had a prof who used to do that too. drove me insane)

37648 / 50000 words. 75% done!

notice in two days i didn't meet my goal. I'm bad

...I wish I knew about the favoriting with out commenting. It makes me nuts. My Saiyuki stories are like that - tons of favorites, maybe one comment.

I know that drives me crazy people look and read your work favor it but don't comment at all. I have at least 700 hits over the few months that i've posted and only about maybe five comments WTF???????

Sorry to hear that your knee is still sore.

seriously if i read a story and like it I comment. Sometimes i wonder if they're just not writers themselves nad don't understand how we feel

yeah but it's getting better so i feel much better about the fall

it's just so weird then you'll see this incoherent piece of crap with 200 comments

I've done it from time to time and it's usually a time thing -- also combined at times with me liking a story, but having absolutely nothing new to say about it. Still, I usually try to say at least something, as a professional courtesy!

That could be it. Or maybe they just don't know what to say.

My guess is it's just easier to make something a favorite than have to take the time to actually write something. Oh, well.

It seems like it's becoming more common.

just a hey nice job would b e succificient. it's utterly bewildering and mildly insulting to get all these uncommented favorites

yeah in those cases i usually just leave a nice job or an i liked it unless it's an author who i know reads me and doesn't respond so i just respond in kind

it really does. ah well, nothing you can do about it I know.

that's less interesting than the ones who feel they must comment negatively about something, even if it's about how you arranged the introductory materials

Sorry to hear about the knee. Hope the time off during the weekend will help it.

I've started counting fav'ing as a 'Oh, pretty!' review. It's the one thing keeping me sane when I get about a dozen Favorite Alerts for every review (IF even that).

I also think those people aren't writers. It's the one reason that makes sense, because there can't be that many people who don't have an extra minute to leave an 'I liked it.'
