Rating – PG
Timeline/Spoilers – none

Word Count - 142
When she first started getting days off in America, Ziva played tourist. She would never admit to that but it eventually she had seen everything she really wanted to. The well-trained Mossad officer part of her didn’t like having the leisure time, anyhow. Sight-seeing gave way to the training she used to indulge in.
But as time passed, she realized her coworkers had other, non-combatant habits and that they seemed happier for it. Gibbs had his boat. Tony watched an endless string of movies. McGee had his computer games and his writing. Abby had… well Ziva didn’t exactly know and was afraid to ask.
Ziva slowly came to understand that they were taking peace, using it like Zen masters. New paths opened to her. Days off meant a good cup of coffee, comfy clothes and a new book, her path to peace.

sotto_voce
Word Count - 277
“It’s too early in the morning for things to get hinky.” Abby pouted, her lips, for once, bore no signs of startling color.
“It’s your fault,” McGee fretted, giving his arm a tug. He could barely move it. “You pushed me in.”
“My fault? Who knew you were so easy to knock down. You’re the one enmeshed in a coffin hinge. We’re going to be late for work.” She poked his chest. “Give it a hard tug, Timmy.”
“No! Do you know how much this shirt costs?”
“You’re starting to sound like Tony.” Abby smirked at him, earning herself a glare. She just shook her head, pigtails flapping. Poor Timmy.
“I’m not ripping this shirt.”
“I could call in and let them know we’ll be late.”
“Tell them we’re stuck in traffic.”
“Oh no, Gibbs would know. You’re an awful liar, Timmy. I’ll just tell them you’re stuck in my coffin.” Abby knew she shouldn’t torment McGee just like Tony and Ziva did but she couldn’t help it. He made it so easy. The wide-eyed panic made her morning.
“Abby! No. They’ll think you and were…” A cute little blush rose up his cheeks. “And we weren’t.”
“It’ll give Tony something to talk about the whole day.”
“That’s the whole point.” McGee’s lips pinched. “I’ll never hear the end of it.”
Abby leaned over, unbuttoning his shirt.
“Abby? What are you doing?”
“It’ll be easier to get your shirt out of the hinge if you aren’t in it.” She ran her hands over his chest, thumbing a nipple. “Of course, it’ll be a better story later if you’re actually guilty as charged.”
McGee had no arguments to that.
