Told the students if we get the weather predicted I AM NOT coming to work. I have students driving in from 40-50 miles out. It's not responsible to make them come in a freaking ice storm. It's sleeting now. Please let it STOP and go to snow. I want to keep my power and my changes are better with just snow. If you don't see me tonight, the power went out.

I gave serious thought to just driving to Jackson, buying contact solution and holder, some clothing and a nightie and going to the hotel for a day or two.

Now i'm working on story edits. Sigh. I started at work. And either I forgot my flash (hoping) or lost it (NOOOO) so I have to start again but 2007 track changes is SO MUCH easier. 2003 is labor-intensive. sigh.

Also it occured to me that I was going into the ice storm wearing my antique glass leaf (large leaves) necklace from the 20's. Ice. Glass around my neck. my inherent clumsiness. Yeah I took it off.

Well, when the county calls a snow emergency, doesn't your stupid college realize that you're not allowed to drive?

We told our boss that if the weather & roads were really bad, a bunch of us probably wouldn't be in. She was fine with that. Of course, we'll have to use a vacation day to do it.
