Bestest news my story is for sale 2.99$ Let's see if it actually sells.
Welsh is insane. Yes, yes it is. WTH? We just covered mutations where letters literally change based on what comes before it and it's not easy and predictable like Italian Chi and che becoming a hard K and ci and ce being pronounced like CH. No, you get the fun combo's of NGH. At least B becomes M, that's doable but then yn becomes ym...why? WHY? at least I found out why most Welsh cities start with Llan, aeber or caer (church, where river meets the sea and fort respectively). I still can't make the hairball noise.

Date: 2010-02-18 10:23 am (UTC)It's a difficult sound. Do you know if your teacher is from North or South Wales? Makes a difference to your listening pleasure, the Southern accent is a lot softer and nicer. Wenglish, where Welsh-speakers construct sentences half in Welsh and half in English, is hilarious. "Come here and give us a cwtch [cuddle], bach [dear]."
