more work shit. Let's just leave it with that.

I can't find time to edit any damn thing.

My poor little cousin is distraught. the cat the family has had since before he was born died today (cousin is 10).

I was depressed to see Walter Koenig's son Andrew was found and like his father feared, had taken his own life.

for the writers out there, don't you just hate it when you can't come up with a good title and know you're going to send a story in with something totally lame.

*points at icon* 'nuff said.

And, *HUGS* Is there anything I can do to make your weekend better? Maybe a short-short about any of the fandoms we have in common?

the icon is teh greatest of truths.

haha if you feel moved to do so sure, go nuts. thanks.

hey i was going to ask you, does Kushiel's Dart EVER get moving. i'm 150 pages in and absolutely nothing is happening.

150 pages? On my version that's only ch. 16. They haven't even gotten to deal with Baudoin, have they?

Heck. If memory serves me right, I don't think Joscelin has even been introduced yet.

Yeah, that part is meh-ish.

Hang around until Phédre and Joscelin end up in Skaldia. That's chapter... *pages through book* 41. I know. I know. I always said that my fav book is the second - none of the background gets explained and it's 80% action.

Joscelin's entrance does spice things up a little, and then it's all up. At least imo.

she's finally got laid. it's taken 150 boring as hell pages to get that far. The only character i actually like is Alcuin (Sp?) I can't stand Phedre right now. I like Alcuin and Hyacinthe.

From: [identity profile] leni-ba.livejournal.com
Hyacinthe is LOVE. He's the one character I loved through his stay in the series (don't wanna spoil you whether he makes it to the end of the book).

Right now Phédre is a total brat. She'll grow up - whether in a character you'll love, I don't know. Wait for Joscelin; he makes things better. And keep a fictional mallet at hand, because at times you'll want to hit one or both with it.

Hmmm... Melisande will probably grow on you, too. She's great, and a really cool counterpoint to Joscelin's role.

Like I said, hang in there. If you still don't like it by the Mendicant (sp?) bit, feel free to mind-throw something at me.

So, I'm assuming Riza/Roy and/or Roy&Hughes? *pokes Musey*

You mean you didn't like our suggestions? What about just calling it Soldiers of the Sun? Or whatever you went with for the Order?

As I type I am in the middle of trying to edit Bob's Big bang and finish up the draft of mine. XD Yay timelines!

haha yours were fun but not entirely what I had in mind.

It'll probably just be called Snowbound. It's what starts it all. I decided to stay with Soldiers of the Sun because i remembered why I called it that in the first place (Sun King/Winter queen nod and for a while in the middle ages it was surely spelled Son just to keep safe)

I'm in the middle of a cover letter and synopsis of this story. I've given up on editing my story. I just don't think it's possible. yikes.

best of luck to you

I can't come up with a good title to save my life. It's no wonder I keep using song titles. (boo.)

I hadn't heard about Andrew Koenig. Such a shame.

I don't know many writers who don't struggle with titles. The idea of having your title down before you start writing? Completely foreign to me.

Kushiel's Dart really picks up in the second half. Stick with it, it's worth it :)

As for titles, bleugh! I've written lots of decent stories with lame titles. It's the story that matters though!

From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
okay so Kushiel gets two votes to stick with it. I've set it aside to when i'm not ill.I have little patience when I'm ill.

i'm at least confident the story isn't lame. The title is probably less lame than the synopsis...agin witht he sick but the deadline is this weekend.
