I had a good time at the casino last night. They gave the food a St Paddy's Day twist. there were the usual huge shrimp, irish cheeses, bangers and colcannon in a blanket, some kind of crab and cabbage crosti, fingerling potato salad, beef brisket, creme de menthe cream puffs, lady locks, cream tarts and more. the free pina colada's were great (since it has crap beer) I didn't win much but I played for 2 hours on my original 20 and still come out ahead. If you've ever played slots you know that's pretty damn good. I was nearly run down by Earlene when they called her name for the instant 250$ prize. No I don't know Earlene but boy was she excited.

today we went shopping. I love Macy's when it has a sale. got a lucky brand purse for 22$ usually that brand has a zero after those numbers... Got a yellow shirt that I will have to make sure [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog doesn't walk off with and have tailored down to fit a leprachaun. Famous Footwear had shoes in 2A width. YAY. Finally some place with non-wide shoes. Bought three pair.

I am however, getting more and more upset with the book retailers and their shrinking selections. No wonder amazon is putting them out of business. Half of what I wanted from Borders wasn't there. I'll have to get it on line. And oh those history books I've been eyeing so I can work on my historical...yeah, they're IMAGE books. A collection of old photographs are nice but they're not what I need. Sigh.

I'm dreadfully behind on my writing so I'm getting back to it. Sigh.

Why, yes, but my hair is the wrong color! And I don't have bangs...and frankly, as thin as my hair is now, cutting bangs into it would...seriously...well, I wouldn't have enough left to braid.

Is it bad that I love your ranty posts? The leprechaun line is priceless. Glad you had a good time at the casino. :D

Our Borders did me in when it moved the Anime section from next to Science Fiction (which was reduced alarmingly and shoved to a corner) and put next to Kid's books. Uh, yeah. Parents, don't let your children read Anime. I don't CARE if it's "comic books." Argh.

oh god. No, our Borders has it tucked in between SF and Young Adult which is at least appropriate but it's getting to the point if it's not Naurto, Bleach, Fruits Basket, Ouran High School Host Club, D. Gray-man and Fullmetal Alchemist it's not being carried. (oh forgot R. Kenshin and Code Geass)

I haven't checked in a few months; the last time I was there, it did at least have a decent selection -- but I can't help but wonder how it's doing over there with the kid's books. That just makes my mind boggle. (And it's not like it wasn't a popular section -- there were ALWAYS people browsing there.)

exactly. In the Borders in Columbus (which had a decent selection as of last Oct) it's always super busy in the manga

I bought an Oz book from Amazon recently, but I'd much rather do my shopping at a brick and mortar store. I love being able to browse through racks upon racks of books ...

so do I. Especially with the manga. I want to see the artist and see if it's worth my money. Ijust like being able to browse that way. i find I do not do it the same online

With art it's especially important to browse.
