lazy day

mostly sat here and read a bible for a friend's TV (there is interest in it so I was taking a look at the bible). That and doing my writers group. I swear it takes me more time every time.

My head felt like it wanted to explode (thank you 30 degree temp drop). The cats never left the house today. It's like OOOO futon is good. must sleep for hours. I want to be a cat.

I also had to read a mess of chapters of Zombie Loan as I have to review volume 8 and never received volume 7 (where in more things happened than the last three volumes combined, i swear). I hate reading online but eh, what to do. Really added to the headache

so did digging thru the box of 80's jewelry but I'm ready for 80's zumba night tomorrow. electric blue nails, one gold nail (from 1986 i believe), will attempt a side pony tail, electric blue shirt, lace over skirt, even have gloves (sadly the white ones) plus a ton of 80's earring and necklaces. Must clean those posts well before shoving them in my ears. I'm the judge. too bad i can't win. I'm the authentic one...

We had 80's day in high school. I was so sick that day, but I refused to stay home because I had spent the whole night before putting up my hair into a mohawk. Wore a bunch of my mom's old clothes. I was pulled from class to do all sorts of photos for the yearbook since only a small number of students actually put any effort into it.

i considered gelling i t up but my hair is sooooo thin now because of the hormone issue that I can't. Hell pulling it up is awful.

I've found my college id (yes I AM a packrat), and pictures from them with me wearing the stuff I'll be wearing tomorrow.

no clothes though. I weight 115 pounds back then. I'd have to lose a person to fit back into those outfits even if i still had them

My mother was 115 lbs too. I could only just barely wear some of the clothes she had. XD I was 135 in high school, so not too bad.

I trust you're going to be giving us pictures of this outfit? I do remember the one gold nail thing - a teacher of mine (who seemed to model herself on Bonnie Tyler) had one. I was a little young for the full thing but in the late eighties I did do huge earrings, and the stompy boots, leggings and black stretchy mini-skirt, big baggy slogan t-shirt thing. My fashion icon and indeed general role model in life was Ace from Doctor Who (the one with the London accent and the home-made explosives). Forgive me, I was twelve. It's all coming back in fashion now and I feel old.

I went between Madonna's virgin whore look in the beginning to one of the Cure's goths wtih a splash of Cyndi Lauper color in between. The 80's were where I spent my teen years.

Want to feel old. Enemy informed me she was born the year I graduated high school (which I had seen for myself when I looking at her birthday info)

but I was moaning to my mom yesterday about it being my 25 h.s. reunion (i remember my parents going to theirs) and she sorted thru her mail this morning and found an invite to her FIFTIETH

My guys spent most of the day inside, too. But I think that was because they don't really feel safe if I don't leave the door cracked open so they can come and go as they please. However, yesterday was just too cold for that, so they stayed in and slept the whole day away. Lazy asses. Hee!

It's so nice having 'comfort' as a personal style, so, while I recognize styles from my past, you can be pretty sure I was still wearing jeans, t-shirts, scarves, sneakers and knitted sweaters.

Cons and the SCA are/were about the only thing I really put effort into dressing for.

BTW, I convinced another Ed fan of the idea of ducking/canvas/heavy duty cotton for the trou. *score!*
