80's zumba night

where I felt useless as a judge but my student had such a great turn out. I loved it. However, no one was too interested in photographing me so I only got a few. I take horrible photos. you know those people who the camera just loves and they never take a bad picture? I'm not one of them.

I swear I’m not as ugly as my pictures.


my nails including an authentic 1980's gold one (tri-color gold, just a simple gold one wasn't flashy enough for me back in the day).



I hate getting caught at this angle. It makes me look 30 pounds heavier than i am.


It's not the 80's unless your make up is half way to clownish (gah double chin, so damn fat).

extreme close up You know, the zumba instructor's (the young lady in the pic with me two pics up) grandma kept saying how beautiful my complexion is. I hear that a lot actually (usually from women or old men,no one I really WANT to hear it from) but looking at this up close, that skin doesn't look bad for being two months shy of 43 years.


All in all the zumba class was fun. My back couldn't handle it but i watched it all. I want to try it. there are women 20 years older than me doing it. I have no excuse once my back is fixed. She had a whole GYM filled with women (and one young dude). It's amazing

I do sometimes get petulant and proclaim that fat is a feeling and that I want a pony.

You do have amazing skin! You have a better complexion and fewer lines than me, and I'm exactly ten years younger than you. Grr. XD

I'm totally impressed by that tri-colour gold nail. Wow.

As for make-up, I first learnt to apply eye make-up from a beauty book someone got me at the age of ten. The eyeshadow bit went like this: first apply one colour all over the lid. Then you need a bright highlight colour in a line in the middle of the lid, and at the outer corner of the browbone. Then a dark shading colour at the crease of the eyelid and in the outer corners. Then blend. And that's a light day make-up.

Of course you can imagine the blusher-cheekbone highlighter combo that goes with that eye make-up. Awesome.

hahaha that is EXACTLY how I put that eyeshadow on. there's actually four shades of blue in that mess.
