just another day
Aug. 9th, 2010 09:31 pmi'll be over my usage by tomorrow. Debating on paying the overage or staying offline for another week.
I’m trying to remember the adorable things Kanda did today but I’m forgetting one. This morning he chased his tail until finally running headlong into the wall in his attempts. I shouldn’t laugh at him brain damaging himself but it was funny.
Tonight, he’s getting more like Iktomi (a former cat of mine with plenty of personality). He now watches the tub fill and can’t wait for me to get in. He likes to watch me read in the tub. Tonight as I was drying my hair, he kept trying to catch the droplets then would shake a wet paw in disgust when he succeeded and cry about it.
And earlier he sneezed then jumped around as if a) totally unsure of WHAT that noise was and b) who made it.
Less adorable: using all four paws to try and shove my hand into his mouth. Also his inability to understand that after getting a drink of water, the back of my leg is NOT his napkin.
Though he has a nasty wound on his leg. He’s scraped himself raw from elbow to ankle. I have no idea how. It’s dry and uninfected so I’m not worried.
Today was my favorite exam for my non-majors (i.e. not technically health care people though some want to be.) The basic physiology test. Here are some of my favorite answers
Where should fertilization happen – SA Node (that’s in the heart)
What causes the heart noises – fallopian tubes (really? So men have no heart beat?)
In a pregnancy what forms in a month – fallopian tubes again
Where does a baby develop? – ovary.
And in spite of me making them repeat this to me every day last week 85% missed the question of in the lungs this gas ______________moves into the blood and this gas_________leaves the blood to be exhaled.
God I love them. If I get cirrhosis of the liver we know who to blame..

Taking some time away from the net will help with your writing? I'd be tempted to pay overage fees. Bad me.

Date: 2010-08-13 02:53 pm (UTC)It's for 6 months dose. So I'm not sure if that's a comparable price if you went somewhere local. I use Valley Vet to get some things for my horse.
Edit: Sigh. location totally is local. really. I need to go the flip home and back to bed.

Date: 2010-08-10 03:37 am (UTC)OK, so I have a morbid fascination with diseases and injuries and spend a lot of time reading my aunt's old medical encyclopedia, but still...

Date: 2010-08-10 04:33 am (UTC)Gotta love kitties. Baby Chloe jumped over Cassie this morning and did a flip in the air. Where was the camera when I needed it.

Date: 2010-08-10 03:13 pm (UTC)oh you never have the camera when they do something cute and if you do they stop as soon as you manage to turn it on

Date: 2010-08-11 01:35 am (UTC)Oh, yeah...get the camera and all movement comes to a halt. All the cats go to sleep. hmmm...maybe I should use that late at night to stop the 3:00 am play time.

Date: 2010-08-10 01:49 pm (UTC)My cat Ewok, probably the stupidest animal I have ever lived with, would fart loudly and then jump around to see where the noise came from. Moron. This is the same one that ran into the door head first.
Tell your class this: I've not had an anatomy and physiology in nearly four years and I know the answers to those questions. :S

Date: 2010-08-10 08:44 pm (UTC)AP Bio was my worst subject in high school (as far as the AP exam went) and even I know the answers to those questions. Makes you wonder if they're really that dumb or they do it on purpose to try and be funny (and it's not).
