I do, however, love my coworkers. I mentioned to J that I was SO glad that summer school is over. He replied, So am I so much so I'm thinking about breaking out the cigars. I'm like bring one for me.

Kanda goes to be neutered tomorrow. I go to the surgeon on friday. It's not going to be a good weekend for anyone.

Am seriously considering getting him a buddy. Mom thinks I need a dog. A westie. Mom, that's a terrier. I don't like terriers. But they're cute. Yes mom and evil. How about you rent a house and get a border collie.

Anyone else think mom is trying to drive me insane?

She wants to come down here next week to help me clean. I said mom i thought you were coming down so we could bum around. I don't want you to come here and work. Now she's offended.


Ever have a character or pairing in your fandom that you think you right well but get like zero response over? Does that make you wonder if you don't write it that well after all?

In Buffy, it was Buffy/Angel. I would write it and hear nothing but crickets.

In FMA, it's Ed/Winry. Outside of the people who comment on most of the stuff I write, i never hear from anyone on those stories.

I find it peculair? Anyone else run into this?

Maybe the pairings are too plain-vanilla for most fanfic readers? Not controversial enough? Maybe the readers just take those pairings for granted? I don't know, but it just smells like a case of familiarity breeding...not contempt, exactly, but possibly apathy. If nothing else, a more exotic (Buffy/Andrew, anybody?) pairing would get you some hate mail.

Hmm, that is suspicious. Do the entries in the ficathons that _do_ garner comments have anything in common? Are they negative, mean-spirited, or particularly lurid? I can't imagine that the quality of your writing is poor, especially since those are pairings you yourself like. Maybe your stories just aren't gaudy enough somehow.

No response to B/A? Okay, that's surprising. At first my thoughts were, "well those are both canon het pairings, what does she expect?" But B/A? I can't really judge your writing in this regard because I think the only B/A thing of yours I've read is Hyperion's Son, but it really wasn't the main focus of that and I was all about the Connor in that one. I don't think you did a bad job though of imagining how it would be if they got together even if Angel hadn't Shanshued yet.

The Ed/Winry thing is probably a het is ew issue. I must confess, I haven't read any of your FMA for a while because I've been half-assedly trying to avoid spoilers as I've gotten woefully out of touch with that manga. I plan to correct that at some point.

And no that's not it. i'm mostly writing this stuff for Ed/Winry FOR those communities (I pretty much stick to pairing communities any more. less idiot wank that way).

as for your fics, I admit, I haven't read any of your Buffy fics because I don't know the series. but I read most of your FMA stories and they're really lovely! I especially adore your Ed/Win fics when the two are already adults or are entering adulthood. I'm sorry I haven't commented on so many as I should, I'll get better at that.

It could be as simple as people reading and not commenting. Points to FFN. I get favorited there daily, literally and yet about10% is all I get that comment as well. But I am glad you like my fma stories

it's hard for me to believe that you didn't get much response for your B/A stories. They're amazing. Granted I'm getting into the whole thing kinda late and after the fact, you're not really writing them very much anymore right?But it seems like most people knew and loved your stories. I`m just trying to hunt them down and make sure I`ve read them all (not easy btw)
Having said that, maybe they weren`t your favorite pairing, funny that i would even think it you wrote them so well even when they were just supporting players in other peoples stories, always get the feeling you like connor best, he`s so messed up and there`s so much to do with him.

Thank you very much. I think that people knew I liked Spike/Dru more and then later when connor came about you're right.

My website is now gone. However, I am going to a) start putting my buffy stories on LJ and b) an archive of our own. I've just been swamped and haven't gotten to it yet. You'll soon be able to find them more easily.

and yes while I do drabble some in Buffydom I don't really do as much as I once did

I get the same people, more or less, commenting on my fic no matter what I write/where I post it unless I write something totally off the wall.

I'm still somewhat amused we were considered BNFs back in the Buffy days. I wonder if that's part of it - people think, "Oh, someone else will comment"? Which is why I always try to say SOMETHING when I read a fic. Even if it's, "Cute."
