Friday the 13th & a belated Perseids party

I usually have good luck on friday the 13th's. I guess getting the news from the doc is a good as it's getting. Talked to my brother who can't even believe I have subscapularis tendonitis. J - that's under the shoulderblade, you can't even get to that muscle. How the hell? Just rest it. Ok then

Kanda is really limping but he looks good incision wise. you can't even really tell. He decided he wanted brushed and I was appalled. He had so much flea dirt on him. god frontline blows. that's all that's available (will look at the links people sent) so i put more on him. Not sure where he is now.

I made a major error on Beneath the Torn Sky plotwise. luckily it's an easy fix.

Now as for the Perseids, yesterday was a better day (but after two finals my brain exploded and I forgot) but there'll be more tonight. I'll haul my chair into the back yard and watch for meterorites

They were gorgeous last night. I was out from 1 a.m. until about 3:30... then again at 5. I couldn't sleep so I took the dog out and looked at all 4 planets that were visible.

I sat "facing over the house" with the motion light and front house lights off, with Jupiter in the NW to my left and Perseus to my right. I saw about 20 total, 3 were absolute STUNNERS and there was a bright Non-Perseid as well.

Was "watching" with an old college friend who is a nature boy and an Earth Science teacher. Yay texting and the compass app on my phone.

Ewww Frontline, our dogs use that but I think you have a MUCH bigger flea problem than we do.

i forgot last night. kicking myself. I'm glad you had a great time with them though. TOnight i saw three then the fog rolled in and ruined it.

I miss having people to watch these with.

even the vet is complaining. I'm wondering if we're seeing a resistance building up.

Well, we did the watching by text but yeah, it was cool. A bunch of my friends were watching that I knew of and I got all "Somewhere Out There". I know... dork. I love and hate Facebook. We planned a reunion this January and it was all via FB. Next year I will have known my college friends half my life. And the funny thing and awesome thing is that it's like we never left when we get together. The beer/drinks are just more expensive and we get slightly less drunk.

If you want a laugh there is 250 words of "Bromance" in the fic contest. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I know what you mean. We're pulling together my 25 h.s. reunion via FB right now too. I never liked these people but morbid curiosity is making me go. I get that same feeling of we never parted from my med. school buddies.

...is a big fan of all things astronomical. And we were invited to go out to his brother's place in the country last night, but were too exhausted. Later, it stormed here...so it looked like it would have been too cloudy anyway. :(

We've had constant clouds and rain for the past few days, plus there's all the city light pollution, so looking for the Perseids is kind of pointless. Someday I'll go out to the desert again and watch them. No clouds, no rain and you can see every last meteorite that touches the atmosphere.

You pulled the tendon _under your shoulder blade_? That's not even a stress point.

well it's one of the shoulder rotator cuff muscles so the tendon does sneak up there but yeah how the hell do you stress a muscle that's hiding under a bone?
