It goes a little something like this:
1. Mirron's mother is the enemy (being the queen's half sister and fully believing she should be queen)
2. I have to get Mirron captured. that should be easy
3. WHY in the world would the good guys ever take a chance on this young man knowing who raised him? Granted they don't know that she's been this evil to him yet but they do know he didn't want to hurt anyone but did (killed them in fact). Also he has a fairly unique and powerful talent
and there in lies the stumbling block. THis only works if they have a reason to take a chance on Mirron but what that is is a tad mysterious to me right now.
suggestions welcome. yes you'll hear more whining as nov gets closer.

Date: 2010-10-23 07:52 pm (UTC)Motivation is a bitch. It took me three years to figure out why Maru gave up his career for Toshiro, so maybe I'm not the one to offer suggestions.

There'd be no reason not to trust him if he's grateful to them and hates his mother. In that case, the only real danger he poses is not being in control of his powers.
this is sort of what I had in mind. In the opening sequence, he is attacking but he's trying not to kill anyone. He's not a tremendously awesome foe what with the apologizing and weeping as he does stuff. I'm sure the queen's mages see themselves rescuing Mirron and frankly he's glad to be out from under mom's eye.
What they don't know and what he's too afraid to say is she can link minds with him. She mostly does it to make him nuts and to keep him under her psychological sway . That might be all that's needed. The adults will obviously realize him as an abused kid pretty quickly. The other teens might not even know where he's from, well some of them we=ill.
hmmm
