omg corn stalks can cut you like a knife. I had two hours of whacking down corn. I'm somewhere beyond exhausted, in that fugue where you just keep working because you can't remember how to fall down. In addition to picking corn THEN taking the stalks down, I had to tie it all back up into fences. I'm a maze of corn 'paper cuts' over my face and arms. I also did all the graveyard and spider-ed up my cabin.

I wanted to go to the school party as Abby. This isn't going to really work.I have the caf-pow cup and havocmangawip told me once how to convert it (provided I could find the graphic). But I needed a wig. The ONLY black wig with bangs our crap-ass Halloween store had has very curly goth-loli pigtails the likes of which Abby has never sported. So...goth loli girl it is. The wig is tiny like it's for a kid (it's not). It's going to be a bitch mother to put on. I dont' have shoes. My Abby boots dry rotted and I couldnt' find a replacement. it's all spike heels down here. i can't wear those.

I AM making a necklace for the costume. This necklace called vampire bite. I like it. 70$ is outrageous. Now I didn't have time to finish the edges with a lobster hasp but I did finish it with velcro...ever try to sew velcro on by hand. I had to go get my old needle driver to do it. I also decided to use copper chain since well blood is coppery. I'll take a picture when I'm done.

I found out how Roy got back here. The bitch who took him dropped him back off on Van's porch (the old guy with whom Roy also lives) with a bag of food. I guess i should be grateful she returned him but honestly, Roy lived with her for a year even before she ran off. He's confused. I'll make a vet appt for him since he looks mangey. (I think it's allergies actually but i'm not risking that)

If the bigger wig is too curly, can you just put the hair in braids? She wears her pigtails braided frequently.

I've been looking at that necklace, but $70 is laughable for something that easy to make yourself. You can put together a ribbon choker in a flash if you can find those bar crimp end findings with the little saw-teeth that grab the fabric. Finding the right width for a wide ribbon might be a problem, though, since the craft-store ones tend to be narrow. Fire Mt. has them in all widths, so they might be the best source.

Putting the book cover in a vertical format helps it immensely. It's looking very cool.

i figure that's what I'll do for next year the bar crimps. this year I just hand basted on some velcro. it only has to last a few hours.
