and now for the cool thing about fandom

Back in the day, we rarely had people from other countries in the group. Basically a few from Canada and the UK. Japan and Australia were completely exotic. Mostly, because you had to pay postage and that got expensive.

in 98, evil_little_dog harrassed me into getting an FFN account because I needed to write Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanfic. I resisted. I didn't think I had anything to say about Buffy and didn't think anyone would want to read it. I was wrong on both accounts.

Today one of the artists for my FMA bigbang writes me. She's from another country and loves my work but has been shy to tell me due to the lanugage differences. If you go to FFN you'll see I'm read all over the world. When you think about it, that is cooler than cool. It's the sort of thing that goes to your head.

As for the rest of my day, started okay except i'm tired and nauseated (stomach being bad). it was pretty out. I went up, washed laundry, picked up butter for tonight's dinner. Got home, wasted time, cleaned very little, took 4 hours to watch one hour of Fringe (Okay I have to say it I HATE this season of Fringe. I miss Walter and Peter. DOn't get me wrong, the acting hasn't been better but still. snooze), washed Soul because he smelled, dealt with litter box issues then mom called and asked, 'see that storm heading your way?'

Well I knew it had gotten much darker out but i hadn't given it much thought. I turn on the local news. rain tonight. rain/ice/snow tomorrow, snow and absolutely frigid the rest of the week. it's the ice bit that worries me. If tomorrow is still just raining i might run to work on a sunday to put my grades in since I didn't bring my grade book with me (being electronic)





there are more. he was filthy. now the sink is covered in yuck, his hair, my hair... and no i'm not strangling him. poor thing was too stunned to move

Roomie's one cat yowls and does a bunny hop when we give the yearly baths. Don't think it helps him when we laugh like crazy over him. I think there is usually plotting to cough up hairballs in our shoes or something.

I loved that my DGM Big Bang team was in Finland and Japan. :D It really is amazing how fandom comes together like that across the globe.

Yes, ditto and I had the same two countries (except that my author was a Singaporean girl living in Japan so we had lots of chats about all the good unhealthy Singapore food we both love). My FMA Big Bang artist last year (who only did sketches due to a hideous computer meltdown) was an Aussie. And it's cool to have buddies all over the US and Canada. Fandom is fun! Sometimes you even get invitations to hang out abroad out of it. <_<

we started to get the ice and snow. I raced to work to get my gradebook done and naturally it stopped. If i HADN"T done that, I would have 5 inches of ice or something

We got a TON of rain last night, and now it's windy and freezing and little ice pellets and snow are whipping around. My commute will be lovely tomorrow morning, I am so sure.

Haha, oh, that sucks. But at least you got the grading stuff done. Murphy's Law does say you would have been trapped by a blizzard or something if you hadn't gone, so what can you do?

Oh yeah, owners get paid if they're successful. If they aren't, haha, I wouldn't even want to think about that. I never want to open my own funeral home, but then, there's no way I'm staying in a funeral home forever. I'd much rather work as an embalmer for a cadaver program at a uni.
