Survived one night

cornerofmadnessBarely. I forgot that: steam heat is HOT. Steam heat is NOISY (bang bang bang hisss hiss).
Soul won't come out of hiding.
The bed is like trying to sleep on a cement slab. My arthritis hurts like hell on something hard. I was in tears by 3 AM.
almost fell asleep by4 AM then the fire station alarms went off (it's just up the street)
Soul finally came out at 630 AM to fight with Kanda.
Kanda was thrilled. I CAN SLEEP IN BED WITH MOM
As for the ghosts....i can attribute the creaking to the age of the house, the bangs and hisses to steam heat but what in the hell was rearranging furniture all night upstairs? I asked mom that and her eyes bugged. She said grandma always said there were people upstairs rearranging furniture but no one believed her.
Believe her. Every time it happened Kanda panicked so it wasn't my imagination (raccoons? chipmunks? ghosts?)
Also found out that Great Grandma had boarders in that upstairs room. Um okay, a four room house had boarders. And that the kitchen/bathroom/downstairs bedroom and the newer part of the basement was all from the 1950's.
This is really going to make for a great story one day. I've always wanted to write a horror story about inheriting that place with it's freaky basement and cistern and now that I know there were boarders well it'll be way more interesting if the main character discovers granny was a Belle Starr type

I used to live in a mobile home where I would swear I heard someone walking down the hall and banging the cupboards in the kitchen. Probably a parasomnia, but still spooky.

Date: 2010-12-20 12:35 am (UTC)As for the creepy house = o.O When I was little, my grandparents place creeped me out when I slept over. It is a farm house after all. When it creaked and settled that's when it got to me. Never heard any ghosts though.

Date: 2010-12-20 01:12 am (UTC)I'm not even going back tonight.i've gotten exactly 61/2 hours sleep in two days. the bed is impossible to sleep on and it's snowing bad. I was there with them all afternoon. Kanda is using everything but the litterbox as his litterbox and Soul has been hiding behind the couch for 24 hours now. if this keeps up someone will be boarding up here.
