writerly ways
Dec. 19th, 2010 08:52 pmI've been thinking about the author's platform for my non-erotica persona. I've settled on the pen name and I know I need to a) get her a twitter and facebook b) get her a blog c) find a way to afford a cheap domain to at least pass as her website.
Anyhow I was talking with another person in one of my writers' groups about her choices which admittedly aren't for me but thought what would I call the blog. Frankly I was just going with my pen name b ut the subtitle...what to put for that.
Seriously, does anyone even LOOK at that? I know I don't. I couldn't tell you any of your cutesy subtitles. I have one for this of course but does anyone look at it. Am I wrong in thinking that really the blog and website should just be my name (well pen name?)
For the original fiction crew, what do you think a good subtitle for my writing blog would be? I'm curious. I mean it should probably reflect my writing.
I'm curious as to your thoughts about all of this. I know right now author's platforms are a necessity but i'm just wondering does anyone avail themselves of all of this?
and since i've slept only 7 hours in two days i'm not coming up with another post. Have a picture.

okay an older shot of my now-broken couch. I have two bookcases and two CD cases stuffed behind it now

Date: 2010-12-20 09:04 am (UTC)title = random witty/catchy phrase
subtitle = John Smith's Blog/Jane Doe's Virtual Internet Parlour
Both btw came up in Google in the first couple of hits when you googled their names, which is something you're after.
I have recently set up a non-fandom illo blog and am trying to set up an academic one (I need to think of a witty domain name to grab) because my boss claims these things make me look good and help net permanent position. Oh, humanities departments, you are thinking. Anyway, I haven't used a subtitle for the illo one.
