I've been thinking about the author's platform for my non-erotica persona. I've settled on the pen name and I know I need to a) get her a twitter and facebook b) get her a blog c) find a way to afford a cheap domain to at least pass as her website.

Anyhow I was talking with another person in one of my writers' groups about her choices which admittedly aren't for me but thought what would I call the blog. Frankly I was just going with my pen name b ut the subtitle...what to put for that.

Seriously, does anyone even LOOK at that? I know I don't. I couldn't tell you any of your cutesy subtitles. I have one for this of course but does anyone look at it. Am I wrong in thinking that really the blog and website should just be my name (well pen name?)

For the original fiction crew, what do you think a good subtitle for my writing blog would be? I'm curious. I mean it should probably reflect my writing.

I'm curious as to your thoughts about all of this. I know right now author's platforms are a necessity but i'm just wondering does anyone avail themselves of all of this?

and since i've slept only 7 hours in two days i'm not coming up with another post. Have a picture.

That's not your living room. There aren't papers everywhere.

I look at the subtitles but that's just me.

"Porn writer for hire"?

I really like that coffee table you have. Is that gold/yellow thing on top of it or part of the table itself?

that table is so old but thank you (it's the next thing going to goodwill after the couch...) I've seriously had it...15 years or more (and it was cheap so it's showing)

that thing is a glass bowl filled with rocks and floating candles but i don't have any water in it

I like the table, though. And old is by now means determination of when it should be thrown out. Half the furniture in our house is at least 80 years old anyway. (My mom really likes antiques...)

Original erotica writing? Hm, I'm not comign up with anything catchy or fun right now, but Mega Cold and Xmas madness have destroyed nearly all of my remaining brain cells.

I just checked the author's platform blogs of a couple of other writer buddies and their title/subtitle thing went like this:
title = random witty/catchy phrase
subtitle = John Smith's Blog/Jane Doe's Virtual Internet Parlour

Both btw came up in Google in the first couple of hits when you googled their names, which is something you're after.

I have recently set up a non-fandom illo blog and am trying to set up an academic one (I need to think of a witty domain name to grab) because my boss claims these things make me look good and help net permanent position. Oh, humanities departments, you are thinking. Anyway, I haven't used a subtitle for the illo one.

thank you very much. I know many of the author's I follow on LJ just have their name as their blog name (makes it that much easier to find you) but doing it in reverse could work but i'mnot sure i could think of anything that witty to be honest that I'd want as my blog name

yeah I have a lot of academic friends in that boat. My school made me get facebook...
