So far, you're not.

My brother had a colonoscopy. Good news, he doesn't need a resection, bad news he needs on a high dose immunosuppresent to try and kick the flare up down.

Soul is hiding less now that we're here but I do see a problem and I don't have the money right now to get it fixed (wonders if I have any left over), he has a bad ear. It's all gummy and bloody. ear mites. sigh.

I got the syllabi half assed and got the first unit of my nursing course fixed up. Let's count that as a win for today

I'm burning a little 'hope' incense from Shoyeido (they make such lovely incense) I think i need that right now.

the 'new' kitchen circa 1952 (original linoleum). that table and chair set is also circa that time period and it's gonna be mine. i love it

Very glad your brother doesn't need a resection. What drugs are they putting him on?

What a great kitchen! It needs to be red and black.

Like, it's bigger than the one in your apartment? I think half of your apartment could almost fit into it.

Ear Mites.... get a bottle of mineral oil and put several drops in his ears. Work it down in there by rubbing behind his jaws at the base of the ears. Be prepared for him to hate it and shake most of it out, but that's ok... just get it worked down in there before he does and then when he shakes he'll just be spreading the oil over those mites. It WILL drown them and they WILL die. But for good measure you should get a Q-tip each day and carefully gently clean the dead bodies out of his ears and put in fresh oil. Most importantly, make sure you praise and pet him thoroughly before you let him get away from you. chances are he'll hide to avoid treatment, but this will work. My vet never used to have me bring my cats in for things like ear mites. he would tell me over the phone "do this". Now unfortunately, the drug companies also have a profit to make on pet medications, so telling people of a simple remedy that does work and is proven is often frowned upon. I have never had this NOT work. Cost: $6 (including the dollar you'll spend on Q-tips) and you'll have a lot of mineral oil left. I couldn't find a bottle smaller than 16 oz at CVS or Wal-Greens

Frodo when he came to me had horrible ear mites. So bad that even after they were gone, he had scarring and sensitivity to his ears. He loved to he rubbed and handled roughly around the ears and even to have his ears tugged on gently. (you know that warming sensation you get down in your when you pull on it in the right directions? He would shake his head out once you let go, and then beg for more.

I'm sorry that your brother is still having problems, but glad there is some good news. I don't really know what else to say about that.

Good news about your brother!

I love that table and chair set, so groovy, and in such beautiful condition. Helen and I inherited a few bits of 1950s furniture from her granny, and we love it. Lots of memories for her, too.
