weight loss, who's with me?

Here it is, the promised weight loss post. Before the holidays several friends expressed an interest in a friendly weight off but naturally nov. isn't the month to start that.

I was just checking to see if anyone was still interested in that. If so, how did we want to go about this? I thought about making a journal but on the con side of that, I'd rather keep this between friends and didn't feel like turning away strangers.

I was thinking more along the lines of my writerly ways. I'll put up a post once a week for a weigh in, supportive comments, whining, recipe/advice sharing etc.

Anyone interested? got a better idea how to do this? I'm all ears.


Today we had our big faculty meeting cuz nothing says welcome back to work like an 8 hour meeting.

In GOOD news, Soul is much friendlier here. He seeks me out.He still occasionally runs but he sat on my lap for a while today and he's been stalking me for hours but as soon as I look at him he's off. THis is promising. I was beginning to think he might need to be rehomed.

this is what was up those staircases. It's one of the two original bedrooms. This was the boarders' room. This is where my mom and her two siblings had a share a bed. This is where I hear all the rearranging furniture. It's also the last room I'm showing you since the new bedroom and bathroom downstairs aren't interesting (New, ha 50+ years old...)

and the steamer trunk is my greatgrandma's. she moved here from Italy with it



btw airing your family bullshit on Facebook really makes you classy shit you know. OMG people have really lost all sense. I would love to copy some of my fb right to these people's employers...

I will join you in the weight-off. I gained quite a bit over the holidays and I NEED something to really get me whipped back into shape!

I weighed 182 last Tuesday at my first post-New Year's weigh-in.

OMG, that's the same trunk Barb had (I think we still have it somewhere, but I'm not sure) -- we used to keep blankets in it. I have a picture somewhere of Kojiki sleeping on them about a week after we adopted him.

So Soul's finally getting back to normal? That's good! My cat's bad with traveling, too. He gets so pissed whenever I try to bring him anywhere near the car that it's really just not worth it. Makes vet trips really hard...

I'm into the weight-off thing. I am up about 20 pounds, 10 of it gained since November and fully 5 gained just while I've been sick. None of my clothes fit correctly at the moment. I really hate it, and it makes me feel like crap. So yah, I'm in. I have no suggestions on how to do it, but keep me apprised and I'm game.

I'm trying to shift the 20lb I've gained since getting married so I can fit into mah nice clothes again, so I'm potentially up for some kind of mutual cheering-on weight off thingy. I've managed to lose 5lb of it so far? Some of which was presumably water, but tentative yay anyway. Now I just have to stay motivated and keep it up.

yes, I'm totally in on the weight off. I'm sure ideas about how best to do might come to us as we do it, but I think starting is the most important thing, so your idea about doing a weekly post for now is great. I've got to lose about 25 lbs, I have before and it feels great to do it, its just a matter of doing it, and getting to the point that feeeling better and being able to wear those clothes again is more, or at least as, important than the large plate of pasta, cookies, beer or whatever..

Glad there's going to be a bunch of this doing it together...
