For a snow day today isn't going so hot

I did get the caulking done. I think it made a little bit of a difference. Found the front door draft stopper and i'm sure i won't use it long. My door is SO bad that it passes over the draft stopper (it's one of those dual ones that are supposed to fit on either side of the door).

I got all the 2010 bills and what not out of the file boxes, put some things in an 'IRS' folder and recycled all those paper envelopes. This took an astonishing amount of time.

Mom called to tell me my cousin Palmer died today. It wasn't much of a shock. He was closing in on 70 and smoking got him last year with trachael cancer. It finished him today. In the middle of this call, she got a call saying Aunt S (her best friend) was rushed back to the hospital coughing up blood. Yeah if she lives out this year I'll be shocked but I said that last year too.

I have my orthopedic surgery appt for my shoulder tomorrow. It's getting really bad. Then monday a blood draw then the monday after that the endocrinologist (hmmm i'll be thru my insane deductible before i know it)





this is the last part of the earthen basement. Beyond the door is more basement but the new part (as in 1950's new). When I was a kid, there was a shower there because my coal miner grandfather would come home too dirty to be allowed in the house so he'd enter the basement first and shower before going upstairs. There is no picture of the new basement because all you'll see is all the freaking boxes I still have in it

Er... Tax stuff. Ew. I need to get on that, too, and bother my parents about it because I need to fill out my FAFSA for the next academic year. You know, so the government can tell me I'm poor but not poor enough to get anything but loans. Assholes.

Haha, I wish telling them that would work! I'm becoming more and more tempted to take the military route once I finish my BS... If they pay my med school bills for me, then they can send me wherever the hell they want, so far as I'm concerned.

for the surgeon, yes i have subscapularis tenosynovitis (but it may have gone to full on tendon rupture judging by pain and lack of use)

OMG ow! How long have you had that? If it's a full tendon rupture, what can they do?

I really, really have been into the idea lately. I want to go into trauma surgery, and the uniformed services university has a GREAT reputation for turning out surgeons from what I've heard. The catch is that you have to go military after, but hell, that's what I want! What kept you from joining? Health stuff?

since the summer. had a steriod shot in august. if it ruptured i 'm in for surgery

Health stuff wasn't an issue back then. first the programs i wanted were cut and I was borderline for eye sight (you had to have 20/800 and I was right there at the border)
