my curtains look pregnant

that's how much my windows leak. Most of the bulge is behind plastic but seriously, i could double layer the plastic AND the curtains and I'd still have a draft in here (and this is after i caulked the windows)

It was a challenging day. It was a snow day. It should have been productive. Instead it was swamped with work b.s. that I don't want to go into on an open forum so instead let's concentrate on the positive.

For one, Soul is doing fine. One incision site didn't make me happy so I'll keep an eye on it but he is absolutely wrecking havoc everywhere. I ended up feeding him early last night since he seemed to be doing okay and was trying to eat garbage. I also called the cat shelter for the voucher. they are a strange bunch. seriously.

Your windows sound a bit scary o__o As does that hill thing you live on. You really drive that every day - *with* all the snow? Maybe this is just my wimpy southern-ness talking, but I would probably curl up into a ball on the floor of my car and refuse lol

I live in the hollow and have to UP the hill. My parents on the other hand live ON the hill (I'll have to put up pictures)

and yes pretty much from Jan-March there are varying levels of ice and snow there.

I'm glad your cats are romping. Sick pets are depressing and worrisome to have around (looking at you, Psyche), which is the last thing you need right now.

I'm starting to wonder if Psyche didn't get sick in the first place because something else weakened her, and maybe the paralysis was just the first symptom. Parakeets are notoriously prone to tumors. She's still very thin and weak and not eating well, and the antibiotics don't seem to have helped much. I'm doing wait-and-see right now, and keeping her going with daily doses of Ensure, but she can't live on granny-food indefinitely.

there was a disease (which I forget the name of) that interferes wtih them absorbing nutrients. my last parakeet had it and just keep losing weight and weakening

I think Tucker had that, but then she had so many issues after she slammed her head into that window that there's no telling what killed her. Psyche is only three, and she's been on a zoo-quality diet of pelleted food, so she shouldn't be having those kinds of problems quite yet. It could be that the antibiotics were just rough on her system, and she needs time to normalize, but only time will tell.
