getting up before dawn and birthday wishes

happy belated birthday to married_n_mich and an early birthday to roguewords. hope you ladies have a good day.

As for me, getting up before dawn blows. There is no good in it. I had to get up way early to be at the hospital before 8 to drink my 12 oz berry (yeah right) barium shake. Blech. It is hard to get that down without puking. And I didn't get it right away. I had to go demand it like after 20 minutes. dudes, I need to have an hour for it to go through my digestive tract. Finally, barium in place, heplock put into my arm, I'm shoved into the CT scan

and my bad arm can't go above my head. It's gotten that bad. we rest it against the CT machine. It was funny last night I told evil little dog i had a date and she was like OOOO REALLY? Yeah with a CT scanner. Oh. Hey i get to lie down and take my pants off for something. This is as close as I'm coming. It'll be awhile before i find out if the adrenal tumor has grown any.

while waiting on all of this i was reading the poisoner's handbook and it is so good. non-fiction that reads like fiction with people i wish i could have known.makes me want to do Jazz age NYC stories

One of my friends got their tenure today. we went out and celebrated.






technically it's McKenzie hall. See the bank of second story windows next to the sidewalk? that's my lab. those windows don't open so we all die of stink. thre reddish brown building beyond it is the Kidd building where my office is

I commiserate with you on the CT scan as I also just went throught that. Damn that barium is awful.

That's awful about your arm.

Having a lab with non-opening windows does not seem to be good planning.

Ewww, barium milkshakes. EWWWWWWWW. I wish I could remember why they had me taking them. I guess because I was nauseous all the time...

Barium milkshake...I remember those. Threw it up all over the tech, after I calmly announced I was going to get sick. His smarmy remark "I have never had anyone throw up the mixture. You're not going to get sick...now lay still."

Oh really? All over him. HA! "Told you I was going to throw up." After three rounds of barium, and me barfing it...they realized I was allergic to something in it. Oh really? And your first clue to this was? Could it be you are drenched in the stuff now? Could it be my face getting blotchy and swollen? Could it be me shaking like a leaf? Could it be me saying the room was getting dim? Morons.

Sorry you're having such issues with your shoulder/arm. (I originally wrote that as suck.) Hope they figure it out, or get it fixed soon.
