GO SNOW!

We're expecting 2-6 inches. Whee. Though there's rain mixed in. Boo.

And I forgot to mention [livejournal.com profile] writinggoddess surprised me with some early X-mas gifts in the form of icons (No not this one of Connor). All sorts of fun pairings. I'll slowly be getting them up. THANKS!

Okay so after I leave the psychiatrist who for some reason explained in great depth how WONDERFUL the lock-down PICU is here at St Mary's to me, I head for the stores. I hear about the snow and cross out the 80 mile trip to the nearest Barnes and Nobles. I go looking for cards for the exchange (and if you want a card from me let me know). K-Mart STILL doesn't have any. Wal-Mart's got a few pathetic looking boxes (explain to me why no one has boxes of cards). I give up and I go for the snow boots. I'm torn. I try on two pairs over and over again for an hour trying to decide. The 50$ Canadian boots by a name I know which are nicer in that they have a felt liner and a drawstring top but have a MUCH thinner, less rugged sole, no arch, and the water proof rubber only covers half the foot??? in comparison to the half the price no-name Chinese brand that has the same outer water proof nylon covering but has a huge rugged sole, an arch and water proof rubber that actually comes to the ankle but has a liner that's thinner and of a mystery material (However I can remove that and still wear the boot which I can't do with the Canadian name brand) Finally I decide that I can buy a felt liner and go with the cheap boots.
And while I'm bitching about consumer products, what's up with certain toothpastes. I have the Aquafresh Extreme whitening 'Mint Experience' I guess you can't label what it actually tastes like 'toxic waste.' It's vile. It even turns a noxious pink/orange when used. Oh and stay away from Angel Soft toilet paper. There's a misnomer. Okay I knew not to buy Scotts tissue because it's like sand paper but I go for the Angel soft and manage to  remove several layers of skin with this stuff. Here why don't you use a brillo pad. It'll be nicer and more gentle to your delicate skin.

Oh and in further Nanomo news, Makai is now bald. I TOLD him it would happen if I had to hear about his hair one more time.

"Ignore them, Makai," Carantoc patted his back. "But sadly, your hair is a total loss. There’s just a few patches left. It’ll all have to be shaved."

Makai pouted. "Do I look bad bald?"

"Yes. Maybe we can put a hat on you," Tully said.

"That’s right, Tully, Traumatize him more," Carantoc said sourly

Thanks. I also had to promise I wouldn't kill myself with my new brain meds...I must be more depressed than even I know.

Makai is still crying and pouting. Now i'll have to hear about his bald head.

Trust me. It DOES. That boy should never be bald.

BTW, COM? Trehvan's in hysterics over this. You know that, right?

I'm getting there. You have one Trevhan chapter already. Makai's on his way to cry on Kylle's shoulder as we speak.

Why yes, losing his hair does constitute as trauma, doesn't it?

(Trehvan's rolling his eyes.)
