Here's a CONSUMER WARNING for us all. Avoid UPS. They denied all three of my claims. Two they said weren't packed right, even though a) it had hard styrofoam, soft foam, peanuts AND bubble wrap b) Office Depot okayed it. the third package they said was an 'inadequate box' It was THEIR box, the one I bought new from them at 5$ per box so if it was inadequate maybe they ought to reconsider their own product. Filing a complaint but I know it won't go anywhere. THIS is why they send the inspector to your house. They don't want customers making a scene in the store. My suggestion to you all is find another way to ship things.

Yeah not a big fan of UPS. Hey! You know UPS and Fed Ex have a competitor now... I forgot their name at the moment cause Im on sudafed... *sniffle* but anyways. Im sorry that happened to you. *big hugs* from me. And I agree with you about the UPS thing they really suck.

I'd go to the store and make a scene to be honest. If they aren't going to be that way, I'd return the favour.

Yeah well go... Trust me. I would, my mum would, heck even my godmum would. And if I've learnt anything from my godmother is that the louder you are the better you're treated. Which is sad when you think about it.

Here's my husband's suggestion:

Take them to small claims court. Get an affadavit from Office Depot that everything was packed properly when UPS picked the stuff up. Large Corporations are required by law to use a lawyer in small claims court, you are not. With photographs and the other things you've mentioned, you have a very solid case.

Office Depot is now saying they didn't inspect the package (they did but I have no proof) so they're siding with UPS I get the feeling it's just easier to go buy the damn cd player and be done with it. It would cost me more to go to court

Eh, Fed Ex isn't much better.

They managed to lose one of our servers. Ya know, the over 100 pound monstrosities, insured for a pretty penny, takes two people to lift sort.

According to their records, the last place they saw it was South Dakota. And they had no idea what happened to it there.

A couple of days later, the thing shows up on our door step.

With their people still looking for it.

So, we shipped it again to where it was supposed to go.

Haven't told them yet that somehow, the thing magically made it back to Florida from their South Daokota processing center. It's made it's trip this time, but they're probably still looking for the thing.
