Apr. 26th, 2011 10:01 pmI told my students they could help me build an ark. I had many takers. I then said we all had to live together and how long before we started pitching people overboard? Then, since we're talking about reproduction, I asked and what do you think of our gene stock. More people volunteered to go overboard.
It's raining. Still. Forever. I'm growing gills and the webbing on my fingers is making typing hard. It IS cooler though today.
Other than that it was non-stop work today and grading until nine.
My shoulder is KILLING me. Hauling the specimens in and out of the bags is not doing me any good. whimpers. well that part is over tomorrow anyhow.
I ran across this on the web from a 'got talent' show. This guy is amazing. Matrix Dance
Day Twenty-Six: Favorite classical female character (from pre-20th century literature or mythology or the like)

Athena is amazing to me, always has been. Since I was a young child in grade school, I read and reread Bulfinch's mythology and Athena was my favorite. I wanted to be her but I never managed to achieve godhood...yet.
This Athena impressed me. I was going to use one of the traditional originals but this is at the Parathanon in Nashville TN of all places. The artist made an attempt to recreate the gilded Athena that disappeared all those centuries ago. Google it. Now I have another reason to go to TN

This is Little Rocky creek, not doing TOO badly but notice the chunk of grass that got worn off the side. This isn't too far from my bedroom and is the one that gets into my kitchen when it's up

Date: 2011-04-27 04:42 pm (UTC)We got storms coming through and so far we're ok... I cancelled class today. Bummer cuz it was our final meeting and I like the group, but half of them wouldn't have shown up.
