At the end of my rope
Apr. 7th, 2004 03:55 pmThis one class of mine has driven me insane. I'm not even honestly joking. I feel like I'm in some separate plane of existence from this class. It was supposed to be an easy course, something to look good on the resume. It turned into a nightmare. There was so much busy work I couldn't find time to study for my orals. Now I won't graduate until the summer. Maybe. If I get a C or lower in this class I won't graduate at all.
Worse, this 'scholarly' paper I had to write has been rewritten totally twice. Now three days before it's due she tells me my bibliography (which she PRE-APRROVED) isn't scholarly enough. It's about feminist pedagogy, curriculum and community colleges and not all three together like it's supposed to be. Well, I got ALL the sources except a few from on line (which we were supposed to have) from the education data base at UCF which are ALL scholarly magazines so how in the name of god can they be NOT scholarly. And if that was the case why the hell didn't she say so a month ago when I sent the bibliography.
Then she wants me to talk about the main topic without an introduction into what the feminist approach is about. This is so anti-anything I've ever learned in over a decade of writing professional papers. I can't deal with this. I write good papers. Screw that, I write excellent ones. I usually score exceedingly high. For this class, I have two that are useless. I have three days to fix it and how can I fix it with 'unscholarly' sources that she approved once and now no longer wants me to use.
If I see one more notation of this is not APA format I'm going to kill someone. I have the freaking book open on my desk. I'm copying the style exactly. I'd like to know how that's doing it wrong?
