And another trio of drabbles done for the fandomwishlist holiday requests. This request was for Tara. They range from Pre-Sunnydale through S6.

Pre-Sunnydale

The time was right, Tara had no doubt of it. If she didn’t get away now she would never find the courage to do it. It had taken her all to apply to college in Sunnydale, a remote place, some place she prayed to the Goddess her father would never find her. She knew her life had been mapped out by the men in her family, slated to a life as their house frau. Tara knew there had to be more to life. She wouldn’t be trapped by fear. She thought on her mother and drew strength. Time to go.

During Hush

Time stood still as her hand touched Willow’s. The power that followed from their touch stunned her. Even if her voice hadn’t been stolen, Tara wouldn’t be able to speak. Even as their magic saves their life, Tara knows that life had been altered in a way she couldn’t have imagined. She barely knew Willow and yet she knew somehow, she had found her other half. This beautiful girl made her whole. Tara felt lost in a wave of love like none she had ever known. Would Willow be receptive? Would she be rejected? Time would tell and Tara was patient

During Seeing Red
This couldn’t be all the time she had. There was so little pain, just a diffuse burning but Tara knew it heralded the end of time. Her last memories couldn’t be of Willow’s lovely face spattered with her blood. Tara doesn’t feel herself fall because she’s already rising. She didn’t get time to say goodbye. She whispers it to Willow but her lover doesn’t hear her. Tara sees the grief, feels the surge of power, feeling it twist into something ugly. She’s powerless to stop it even as she tries to make Willow feel her love. Please don’t, my love.
