I'm still here. The one thing I refused to do today was cleaning, just in case. Would hate for THAT to be the last thing I did on this earth. Mostly I spent the day fretting over my shoulder and fretting over some of the edits I have. Which I need to get back to doing since this must get gone.

I want to write some Royai. I did manage to finish reading 3 fma big bangs now. I'm so slow.

trying t o decide on something for my cousin's July wedding. I have very little that is something I'd want to wear to a wedding. I was looking at these items

waterbird tunic Upside, I have black pants and black shell. Also this will hide surgery scars. Downside it is long sleeved also mother might buy it for herself (mom get out of my pyramid catalogs)

Cafe Society Upside I've wanted this for a long time, it could be used for 1920's themed Steampunk, downside, out of stock, also you will see the shoulder of doom and I'm not entirely a fan of that neckline

ancient batik upside - i think this is very pretty even if it is pale blue downside - shoulder of doom visible, will the center line make me look fat as freaking house?

Photobucket

Roy is very cosy in the cardboard recycle pile.

Man, that waterbird tunic is gorgeous!

Cats crack me up with how they can lay on the most uncomfortable things and still conk out. LOL

We're all still here, imagine that! XD Some of the god-fearing folks in my area went pretty nuts, waiting for the Rapture. It was pretty funny.

Yay Royai! It has been a while since you've posted any! I'm... sadly behind on the big bang reading. Too much to do still!

Hm... I'd say avoid the ancient batik and stick with either the green tea dress or waterbird tunic. The Tunic would be my first choice, but if your mother buys that one, the green tea dress would be nice! I'm just not normally a fan of that kind of neckline and off-the-shoulder sleeves.

Awwww, Roy, why so adorable?

no one here seemed to notice the end was coming.

It has been a little while since I've done up some pure Royai.

thanks. That tunic is lovely isn't it?

also Roy just wants you to think he's cute

Woot for still living! XD

So far I have finished 6 Big Bangs (one of them is yours) and finished reading a WIP one. I could have read more, but yeah I needed to do quite a lot of stuff still, haha. And yes, you should write more Royai! I always love reading yours. :D

I really love the tunic one. Very colorful!

Aw, Roy is cute. :3 My cat loves to sleep in cardboard boxes too, LOL.

living is good

I have pulled out to read pretty much only the ones where i like the pairings from the big bang list (so that did take a lot of them off the reading list)
i do enjoy writing Royai

everyone likes the tunic

he likes to think he's cute yes

Yeah, I'm doing that too. I pretty much already decided which Big Bang stories I'll read and the pairings mentioned is part of that for me. I still have a few more on my reading list I want to read.

I really like the waterbird tunic. So pretty and flowy. Perfect for a wedding and whatever else you might find to wear it for.

This is MY box.

Roomie's cat loves boxes too. Had one at the foot of my bed that he'd sleep in.

boxes are a good thing when you're a cat

The Waterbird tunic is definitely the most practical--and versatile, if you want to wear it again for nights out on the town. The green tea gown is lovely, but I suspect those little black lace sleeve flutters are for skinny shoulders and tiny arms only. Victorian Traders has lovely vintage-style clothes to look at, if you want a dress to pull double duty as convention wear, but they're expensive, probably double Pyramid's prices. The batik is kind of casual, and the pale blue just doesn't say "you." It's not near dramatic enough (might look nice on the deck of a cruise ship, though).

Was there ever a cat who didn't love boxes?

well yes Waterbird is definitely the most practical

I don't have very large arms but possibly larger than I would want in regards to the green (oddly enough all the plus sizes are sold out as per usual. I think this company truly underestimates the size of most its customers)

I'll have to look at Victorian Trader. I was telling ELD the other day at my size,it's just about as expensive to make the outfits as to buy it

I'm supposed to go on a cruise next year. we shasll see

Mom's cat is terrified of boxes (though we suspect someone abused him with one before he was tossed out/run off)

Cap sleeves and other small sleeve-things turn my arms into slabs, and I'm not that big to begin with. But then my upper arms and my thighs are disproportionate to the rest of me. If your arms are proportioned properly to your body, the lace thingies might not look bad at all.

Pyramid is usually sold out of the small sizes, too, so neither of us can shop there. I guess they don't have any medium-sized customers, just sylphs and goddesses.

in all honesty I think the strappy thing around my arm would irritate the holy hell out of me even if my arm wasn't hurting. it's like a bra strap rolled down.

Yikes okay so making it myself isn't as much as victorian trader is charging (i did find a few not too horrible)

Yes so true especially if it's on clearance. I do love being a goddess size. Sounds better than plus

There are a couple of dresses I really like at Victorian Traders, but not at those prices o_O. They're a good source of things for the tea table, but I've never bought clothes from them, and probably never will unless I win the lottery.

yeah there was one dress for 129$ which isn't unreasonable but the 200-500$ crap, well let's just say steampunk specific sites have stuff way cheaper than that

I used to buy from them a lot back when I used to write real letters.

I like the Batik. I don't think the center line will make you look fat as a freaking house. The cut is long and that tends to be slimming, you just want to make sure it's not hugging your curves. Can you maybe pin a lightweight shawl across your shoulder and just let it hang straight down on that side? make it a complimentary color or one of the small colors in the outfit... like that lovely purple accent for instance, Maybe get one cut to an angle that would match the angle of the tunic and dress it up a bit at the ends so it would seem like a extension, but yet cover any still visible scars or bandages on your shoulder. Will you be out of the sling/box by the time the wedding happens?

that batik is pretty (hmmm let's see can I justify two pieces for my wardrobe. That would be a good idea with the shawl

I can't answer that about the sling. If I only need the lesser surgery I should be slingless. I f I need the big work then I'll be in a sling. luckily it'll all be arthroscopic (unless they have to deal with the biceps tendon but that'll be on my chest so no worries)
