trying to remember to breathe
May. 25th, 2011 10:38 pmBecause I've been forgetting to. One of you asked what drives up my blood sugar. STRESS. OMG it's 300 tonight and I barely eat anything (also that could also be a reason for it to be so high) THat will get my surgery canceled for sure.
All the damn rushing around, it turns out I'll be back here for like 4 days prior to my sugery since i have to come back here for that pre-op physical. Well, if I knew that I could have packed up the car and left tonight but now i'm not ready to do that and tomorrow is supposed to SUCK. I'm a little nervous about driving home tomorrow. The weather should be bad.
I'm afraid I've forgotten something. I usually do. Oh well. here's hoping not. I would like the anxiety to go away now. Woke up with the full body shakes last night. Everything inside me now feels like it's dancing. THe meditation didn't help much.
now things are going thru my mind like, can I wear a bra after this surgery? That'll make for fun class time if I can't. Gah, wish I had known this back in Jan. when they first gave me the diagnosis (or under diagnosis). I wouldn't have taken this convention on and I would have given away the summer class and survived on beans and raman.
looked all over for some hand written story bits only to finally remember where they are, in the folder from the monday workshop on my desk at work. Sigh. chalk that up as a loss for now.
Okay you're tired of hearing me whine. I'm sorry.

lots of stuff going on. My rose is looking good (a bit washed out from the sunlight), against the porch is elm under tomato cage (which failed to kill it), Butterfly plant, wormwood (the silvery stuff), huge lily spray, a little hosta, an Asiatic lily to the right of the foo dog and lots of that living carpet stuff
ETA - Forgot to mention Happy Towel day to all the hoopy froods out there

All of your plants are so pretty! And I like the little dog statue.

Date: 2011-05-26 03:39 am (UTC)1) YOU can drive faster than a Tornado, and when one is chasing you there is not a speed limit.
2) Always know where your towel is.

Date: 2011-05-26 04:49 am (UTC)Now we have another big storm here. I think I will have to shut my window here. I'm getting a little wet.

Date: 2011-05-26 05:07 am (UTC)Yup...that's what the local cops told Uncle Mack. "We saw it, which was why we had the lights and sirens going..but we sure didn't expect to see a red full size truck flash up over the hill then have it passed by a little silver car! Then WOOSH...Vendla went past us! She seemed to know what she was doing." By the way...that big white buffalo statue Uncle Mack has by his driveway..or had...he moved it and painted brown with red eyes so it could be seen by anyone coming in the driveway. I guess having his niece come within an inch of smashing into it kinda shook him up. Trust me I was braking too!
ayup...y'all back there should start shutting windows...it's heading right at you.

Date: 2011-05-26 06:18 am (UTC)The Xenia Tornado was a wedge about half a mile wide. The similarities between these two twisters many and the differences few. Xenia was more destructive it was at the very top end of the destructive scale, but unfortunately Joplin was more deadly. Fujita himself came out to view the path of the Xenia and said it was as close to an F6 as he'd ever seen. On the other hand Joplin was unoffically rated an EF4 with the likelihood of that being raised to an EF5 which happened today as expected.
Uh... sorry I'm rambling in my fascination and sleepiness. The point is neither of these was moving exceptionally fast. You could have outrun either pretty easily.

Date: 2011-05-27 04:46 am (UTC)Most people look at those things twisting along and say "Oh that's not moving fast at all." Uh huh...they can be deceptive just like lava flowing can be deceptive in appearance.
I'm not saying the twisters I've outran were horribly fast...but they were going just fast enough to cause all of us on the road to be just a wee bit concerned.
Sorry...I'm just upset over the Westboro whackos showing up in Joplin to picket the whole town! Plus very worried about a friend in Indiana...he was talking to me on the phone when their sirens went off, he said "the sky is turning yellow" started to reply to my remark about him getting to cover when his phone went dead. Haven't heard back from him. *fret fret*

Date: 2011-05-27 05:31 am (UTC)Those Westboro assholes need to be seriously dispensed with. I often wonder that nobody has ever burned them out.
There were 5 tornadoes in IN last night. Greensburg, Bedford, Bloomington, Haysville and Huntingburg. the Bedford was the worst at EF2 and that one only had a were a few minor injuries, one hospitalization and no fatalities if that sets your mind at ease any.
We had tornadoes here last night too. I was in Yellow Springs with a client when the sirens went off. It was n't very far from us but it didn't do much damage. There was one in Centerville too but it was only an EF0. Hail caused more damage.

Date: 2011-05-29 02:11 am (UTC)Okay this weather can calm down now! As my mother used to say, in a very firm tone, "That.Will.Be. ENOUGH." (whereupon you could hear a pin drop, no one dared say a word!)
Woot! Good to know the ground speed is far less than air speed!!!
