Naturally John is in incredible pain (parents trying to remind him that's expected when you've been gutted.) they preserved the anus area in case they can reattach stuff up down the road and ditch the bag. My parents had no sooner gotten home that he called them, saying he was SO worried about them. Can we say he's on the good drugs? Mom said she's never seen such a nice hospital and was so surprised how awake John was post-op.
Unlike me you mean, mom? Yes you, who can never go home even if it IS outpatient surgery.
I've been assigned tasks at PT. Wash my hair with the bad arm (already doing it), get something off the high shelf...not today. But I WAS annoyed. The 1030 appt showed up at ten minutes to ten and they didn't make him wait so I was just left on my own doing half of what I could have done at home.
Random note more to the younger people on my flist. DO NOT email/speak to someone in charge, especially if you've never conversed with them before and call them by their first name. It's disrespectful and a whole lot of bosses will gladly ream you a new asshole for it. And high school teachers if you're allowing the kids to call you by first name, quit setting them up for rude awakenings down the road.

I pass this all the time going to therapy. Sometimes you get so many vendors in this cemetery's side area they get into fights. I love the little headstone tucked into the tree roots

Date: 2011-07-28 02:04 am (UTC)and seriously, it's just rude. it's one thing if i tell you it's okay (for instance my patients/nurses called me Doctor Dana but only after I said it was ok)

Date: 2011-07-27 08:20 pm (UTC)We had an eager, young student teacher in one of our high school classes who insisted we students call him by his first name. We never did--nobody felt comfortable doing it. I know why he thought it would be a good idea, but it cost him our respect.
Fights aside, the informal local market looks like a great place to get locally-grown produce. Which may or may not be a good thing, depending on what the unregulated and uninspected locals spray and fertilize their crops with.

Date: 2011-07-28 10:11 pm (UTC)i think a lot of young teachers try to be hip. call me by my first name. I'm one of you. Even in college, i had one prof who did that and seriously 10 years ago None of uss would do that. nowadays they ALL do even after I correct them. I never sign my emails as anything BUT doctor evans
it does have fun things to buy but mostly i have my own tomatos and beans

Date: 2011-07-28 09:44 pm (UTC)I took a step back when everything went into a spasm yesterday. ALL of therapy was spent in trying to break the spasm and i stayed 15 minutes late just to exercise. but still, it IS getting stronger.
My brother's in a lot of pain but that's to be expected. the ostomy is already working even to the surgeon's surprise so that is good
