I went to bed last night and my whole pectoral girdle spasmed (i.e. shoulder, shoulder blade and neck muscles). I slept like crap. I wrote down my therapy time wrong, got there a half hour late, felt like a total ass. AND had to stay twenty minutes late because it took the full HOUR to calm the muscles down long enough for me to move my arm. It hurts to even have the pressure of the ice on it. It hasn't hurt this much since the week I had the surgery.Sigh.

Tomorrow I see the endocrinologist and since that's about half way to barboursville, I'm going down to pick Border's corpse. I feel bad. I've done this twice already with the Borders in Pittsburgh, the first to go, then the ones in Columbus and now the last man standing.

Glad LJ is back. I'm not going to bitch because I realize, I have NO idea what is involved in fending off an DDOS attack nor what is involved in recovering from one. (I still need to pull down all my archives though. I'd like to have them somewhere). THough if I were a hacker, I'd make dreamwidth my next target just to ruin their high based on all the come over here we're so much better posting I've seen (though either someone already has or the sudden glut of traffic did DW no favors, another reason I don't feel like switching over, if it can't handle a mild increase)

Speaking of computer things I don't understand. Prior to Avast's tech service mucking about on my computer trying to install the anti-viral program, LJ would retain subject and music items typed before and now it doesn't. I sort of liked that especially when crossposting a story. I didn't have to type in the title every time, just the first letter or so. Anyone know how to bring that back?

ANd you know what, I'M still not convinced my vet is right. Soul keeps waking up from his sleep crying and/or jumping in his sleep when NO ONE is around.


ETA - I forgot to mention two things I saw on tv tonight. Air sex games in Japan. It's pretty much like it sounds, you pretend to be having sex and are judged on it. WTF??

And a tv contest in England where blindfolded women had to guess which man was their boyfriends by putting their hands down a group of men's pants and use the penis as their guide. 0_o

DW's problems aren't traffic-related (or not directly traffic related). There's apparently some kind of code bug that's causing the servers to eat too much memory too fast and time out. They're working on it.

Seeing as the DDoS attacks are probably related to Russian LJ's position as a platform for political dissent, unless all the Russian bloggers move to DW, it's not likely to get hit for the same reasons.

I wondered what happened to LJ. It wouldn't load last night, and kept rejecting my password. (And I've always wondered why LJ thought expanding into Russia was such a hot idea. Half the malware, scams and hack-attacks ever perpetrated originate there.)

Nice attempt, but I think the Italian Pavilion at Epcot is more successful. Italian gardens just aren't the same in a damp, chilly climate.

Last time I was at Epcot, the French pavilion was growing vanilla orchids in its outdoor plaza. I'm betting that doesn't happen in B.C. I want a vanilla orchid, by the way. They're cool (and useful).

I guess Russian ownership is a plus if it stops the censorship everybody was so upset about a few years ago. Whatever else they might be, Russians aren't prudes.

Your poor shoulder! It's no wonder you were late to your appointment--it's hard to concentrate and remember when you're in pain.

I think there is something seriously wrong with Soul. I'm assuming that there's nothing wrong when the vet checks his abdomen. I assume if he had the kitty equivalent of pancreatitis or some other -itis the infection would show up on blood tests or something. Can the vet try him on pain meds or anxiety meds to see what happens? :-(

Here in the States someone tossed Molotov cocktails into a Texas Planned Parenthood clinics that doesn't (has never has) practiced abortion, and in England women are feeling up stranger's genitalia on TV. 8-(
