on your cervix?? really so the egg pops out, rolls around in a semen deposit and then gets sucked back into your uterus? EXPLAIN to me how you think this happens. No? Okay you three who think it happens in your ovaries, well at least they're still inside the body. How did you even get into college??

And for those of you who tried to convince me I didn't tell you that I decided there would not be one big final but two smaller ones like there should have been. good luck with that. You siad we had to vote? We DID. On Tuesday. I mentioned it on wed and thursday and assigned the test essay's then. Good luck to you.

I finally weeded the garden a little. there are trees growing in there. My arm now thinks you used me hard before my time. DIE. I'll ache. bwaahahaha

I signed up for

I also signed up as an artist instead of an author because it's a heat index of 110 and my brain melted. At least enemy knows I'm an idiot.

I talked to my brother today. He's in slightly better spirits mostly because he now has an enemy, his home health nurse is saying she can't bring the wafers (to attach the ostomy bag) because of his insurance. medical supply company she told him to call says she's full of the stuff that belongs in that bag. Go get 'em J.

and thanks to Neil Gaiman for sharing this one twitter under reported heroines, a lesbian couple who went into the line of fire in Norway to rescue teens. Funny how I didn't see this story anywhere.

Photobucket

Dad is playing with his scanner again. I'm 5 here. In another 5 years, I wrote my first fanfic. That's right, younguns on the list, I've been writing fanfic longer than you've been alive. and fans STILL scare me from time to time.

and here's the message Dad sent with the picture I scanned my favorite photo of you when you were Daddy's sweet little girl, then you grew up into a nasty old professor. Apparently he's with my students on this

I signed up for Big Bang too. This time though the stories have to be completed and be returned a month earlier than last year. This will be crazy for me since now I had to sort out real life stuff time to time, but I'm up for the challenge.

Aw, that's a cute pic of you. It's fun sometimes seeing pics of yourselves when you were very young, haha.

It went from 7 months to 6 months (most other Big Bangs are 3-4 months). I hope it's still doable. :)

Yeah, it should be more than enough time for me to get my Big Bang finished.

Gosh, you were blond.

What happened?

Mom likes the picture of you. I also took a picture of her wound today to send to you. Remind me.

Ahh, I see. That's pretty cool they were still handtinting; they weren't in this area at all.

No problem, I knew you'd want to see it.

I think I wrote my first "novel" in around sixth grade, so I was a little older than you... :D

Cute picture! I have to scan some of our old ones, now I can make the scanner work!

I lost being photogenic in second grade, when the coke bottle bottom glasses arrived, and I started getting not only chubby, but exceedingly tall(how one can be gangly and fat at the same time is a mystery, but I managed to do it.)

I admire your patience, dealing with students day to day. I hear some of the tales of idiocy my husband brings home from his job, from working with the school groups, and I fear for the future.

I love that story about the lesbian couple! Bet you won't ever see that one on FOX News. I can't help but picture my daughter and her wife, if that had been them - they love to shoot, and are trying to get concealed carry permits. Being trans, a reasonable amount of fear for their safety is not amiss, even though they both pass exceedingly well (I hate that word, "pass.") My kid would probably have been running in there like freaking Rambo... ^____^

From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
yeah definitely lost it before h.s. I didn't get fat until last year of medical school. I looked anorexic until then. sigh.

some days they wear my patience thin

well that's cool you have this faith in their charge in and do it attitude. I like to shoot too and it's sad that they have to fear what idiots might try to do to them

From: [identity profile] helliongoddess.livejournal.com
They keep saying they are going to take me to the range and teach me to shoot, and then get me my own S&W .38 like Sanzo. *lol* I'm actually kind of looking forward to it, at least learning to shoot. Now that we live in the country and I am by myself much of the time, having a way to defend myself doesn't sound like such a bad idea...

hahha, that's not a bad gun. I enjoy target practice (the price of bullets I like less) I hope the arm is well enough when I go home that I can shoot dad's new guns

Date: 2011-08-02 04:52 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] helliongoddess.livejournal.com
yeah, that's my only real concern with the firing range thing... I've had three open rotator cuff repairs, and they both are fully shredded again. I don't know how much of the firing stance I will be able to tolerate, or the kick of the pistol itself. But I won't know until I try. Arms locked straight out is infinitely easier than anything involving raising them over my head, so maybe it won't be too bad.

Date: 2011-08-02 04:56 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
oh geez, that is not good. yes the gun will definitely put stress on it especially if the muscles in the arms are weak

Hm. I must have been the only person who saw that article about the lesbian couple. I posted it to Facebook, where nobody noticed it. :/

I can't understand how people who have gotten to college don't know how reproduction works. Did they never take high-school biology?

re: Fertilization...

o.O Buh?

Hmm. Aren't the ovaries... sort of solid? Like, don't HAVE an "in"? When I taught undergrad astronomy lab, I got about one person a semester who thought the Big Bang was the asteroid impact that wiped out the dinosaurs. When I was done with it that paper was solid red ink. I tried not to be too sarcastic though. Oh, and a couple that confused "cosmology" and "cosmetology".

Date: 2011-08-02 04:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
oh good lord cosmology and cosmetology are so closely related

and ovaries are pretty much solid yes
