I got a very late start since I was in a horrible mood and I had grading to do. Once I got moving, I knew my sugar was a bit high. I took some insuling. That didn't help. By the time I got to the halfway point in chillicothe, I was having trouble. The high sugar was shutting my brain down and it was just not safe to go further.
Instead, I went shopping in Chillicothe to let my body equalize. (and in this time period of 2 hours I drank over 2 liters of water thank you blood sugar, just what I wanted). Lowes didn't have ANY garden stuff on sale. I did get a few things for Christmas in satan's playhouse the hobby lobby. Now to make it. They also had a really cool pocket watch necklace, cheap that I had to have for steampunk cosplay.
I did find a few things i could have bought in TJ Maxx but decided not to. ANd to celebrate all the money I didn't spend at the Irish festival (which is usually a lot) I went to Red Lobster's crabfest. I had a coupon. it's mostly protein and they are nice enough to sub a salad for free since I'm a diabetic and ALL their side orders are potato or rice. I treated myself to the seafood bake and I'm so stuffed. a pound of crab legs, about 8 shrimp and a half dozen scallops all cooked in a wine/garlic/butter sauce with red potatoes (which I skipped) and corn on the cob (which I didn't really eat). It was really good.
I did talk to my coworker L and she said it was too hot at the fest. L reminds me of
ishte in that she loves heat and she loves cycling so if she was hot... I do think next year I'm just going to get a hotel room for a night or two and go to the Ohio state fair AND the IRish festival and really make a day of it. The Irish fest goes til midnight so even if I get there later when it starts to cool off I still get to see a lot.
TOday is supposed to be express your happiness day. I celebrated earlier by sliding down the wall in a crying heap. That's not right? Hmm maybe not. yeah, not so happy right now
My camera is official D.O.A. The new batteries didn't help. Dad has two so I might take his but he says it takes poor indoor pics. it'll do for now.
And for the FMA lovers on my list, well especially you Ed and Winry fans,
fireandice2011 challenge is up and running go look. Sign up. Have fun.

Date: 2011-08-07 03:22 am (UTC)But you're so virtuous! To go to Red Lobster, and pass up red potatoes, corn on the cob, and even the cheddar biscuits? I'm impressed. But damn, that seafood sounds good.... My doctor just dropped my glucophage dosage, and I think it's making me hungry - EVERYTHING has sounded good the past few days, dammit.
Gorgeous pic of the harbor! Hope you are feeling better tomorrow...

Date: 2011-08-07 03:38 am (UTC)well notice I DIDN'T say I passed on the biscuits but I did on the taters and corn. Hmm that could be about the glucophage.
thanks

Date: 2011-08-07 03:43 am (UTC)Yahoo, you had at least one biscuit! Good for you. Not having one of those would require almost super-human willpower.
I can relate to the bad days issue (and depression, panic attacks, bad health... it sounds like we have a lot in common.) Believe me, I know how it is.
