First off here's a little boost for my nanoing friends. nanowrimo writer get 6 figure deal Gives us something to shoot for.

Right now i'm over on literary nymphs chatting about Ghost of Jupiter. It's a yahoogroup that I don't really expect anyone here to rush over and join but it brings me to the topic of the day. Guest blogging.

I've seen people do it. I've seen it promoted as a a way to increase exposure/sales. I know one or two of you on the list have tried it.

My question is: does it work? Have people you don't really know bothered to stop in and say hi and see what your book is all about? I know I've just read past most of them which probably makes me bad. How would you feel if I had someone else guest blogging in my space? Would it interest you or would you just scroll by?

I'm swamped with pre-school work so I'll eschew the word counts again this week. I'm just a few paragraphs away from finishing my demon hunter novella. [livejournal.com profile] wildrider & [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog beta'ed the first third. I have NO idea what to do about the rest. I need it before the first of Sept so if anyone is interested in reading @ 18K at light speed, let me know. Thanks

Oh, Erin's story sounds very interesting. I'm going to see if I can find it online/at Barnes and Noble.

Hm, never done guest blogging but sounds fun. I do know though I won't let anyone else guest blog for me since the only person that truly knows your work is yourself.

I'm willing to speed beta through your demon hunter novella. Doing that and also my FMA Big Bang at the same time should make me more productive, haha. Also that reminds me that I needed to check out the last few original pieces of yours that you posted, ack.

it does sound interesting

actually I meant me coming into YOUR blog to promo my book (or vice versa, you in mine to do the same) with the idea that you have friends I don't and I get exposed to more people.

thank you I'll send it ASAP. don't worry about the bits on line. They're all in this story.

I think guest blogging has worked for authors before. I'm not sure of the exactly numbers but if they are on fairly read site, they're bound to pick up extra readers.

Also if you need another pair of eyes, I'm available.

Yay for someone selling a NaNoWriMo-inspired novel!

I can't answer for guest bloggers for novels, but if I do like a writer's style or what she or he is saying, I'll pop over to see what the blog is like. I don't wind up reading many blogs faithfully, though. The gods know it's sometimes a challenge to keep up with my Twitter feed (which has mostly replaced RSS feeds for me).

i have to admit twitter is the last place i go. I actually want to know things, not get 140 character snippets of junk. that's why i don't like FB either
